John Deere has been building harvesting equipment since 1911 thats thirty years longer than any other manufacturer. Just out of Harvester Works in Moline we have now produced more than 500,000 combines. In fact, more than half the worlds grain is harvested with a John Deere. As a result, every component and every combine comes with a century of global experience built in. And because we spend more on research and development than any other manufacturer, our machines already offer the technology youll need to harvest productively and profitably in years to come.

Milestones
1911 John Deere starts building binders in East Moline (USA). 1916 Lanz acquires the Wery Implement Company in Zweibrcken (Germany). 1929 John Deere starts production of the 12A combine. 1951 John Deere introduces the industrys first Quality Book a set of rigorous guidelines that take design and build quality to a new level. 1992 John Deeres legendary CTS is the first hybrid combine in the world. The spacious new Premium Cab keeps operators alert, relaxed and productive no matter how long the job takes or how tough the going gets. The air suspension premium seat offers outstanding comfort all day long. All the controls are logical, ergonomic and easy to understand. The soft touch switches make it easier than ever to fine-tune combine performance. Visibility is excellent too. With tinted safety glass around the cab, youll get a clear view to the front and sides of your machine. The optional external camera and in-cab monitor can be positioned on the rear of the combine, in the grain tank or on the unloading auger providing excellent, customisable views.

With a CommandTouch armrest, a CommandCenter armrest display and digital corner post display, the S-Series provides effortless control over all operations.

Master control lever The master control lever fits your hand perfectly to give you remarkably smooth hydrostatic speed control. It also controls feederhouse raise/lower, reel raise/ lower, reel fore/aft, return-to cut mode, emergency stop and optional active stubble height and float pressure functions. Header resume switches Button 1: return to preselected header height for long stubble crops. Button 2: maintain a preset stubble height in standing cereals, for example, using ground contact of the mechanical sensors. Button 3: maintain a preset header ground pressure for perfect contour following in laid crops.

Digital corner post display The clearly arranged corner post displays are easy to read and give you complete information on your combines performance. This crystal clear display provides a quick overview of all primary machine information such as forward speed, engine rpm, losses and warnings. All this information is displayed permanently avoiding confusion or the need to navigate multiple menus. One addition is the new power meter which shows the percent of available power used. This information is required to continually maximise the performance of your machine.

GreenStar 3 CommandCenter Touch display Like the GreenStar 3 CommandCenter , the advanced touch screen version provides video functionality. Maximise your harvest potential with a 600R Series Platform

John Deere 600R Series Platforms deliver lower, faster cutting that you can easily adjust to suit your conditions. Available in widths from 4.30 to 10.7 metres, these platforms use stainless steel feed plates to help keep crop sliding smoothly into the 4-way adjustable auger. To ensure a clean cut with less shatter loss, we fit a counterbalanced, epicyclical knife drive that practically eliminates vibration. Set up in seconds All 600R Platforms offer singlepoint attachment of electrical and hydraulic lines and latch pin engagement. No daily maintenance is required.
Smooth intake: The massive 660 mm intake auger provides plenty of feeding capacity and is 4-way adjustable to keep material flowing smoothly. That means much better feeding performance in difficult conditions. Maximum visibility: The small diameter reel tube, open ends and open spider frames give operators the best possible view of the knife and crop dividers. No rust, ever: Stainless steel feed plates in front of the auger ensure smooth, even feeding to the intake auger, year after year, season after season. No obstacles: Retractable fingers all along the auger help to smooth feeding and boost capacity. Breakaway grooves and retainers are standard, so theres no danger of a broken finger entering the combine.

Optional top beam deflector sheet: Available on 622R through 635R models, this new option reduces grain loss and crop accumulation in the feederhouse.

Cuts out vibration: The positive, epicyclic gearcase knife drive provides in-line knife motion for almost vibration-free operation. The counter-balanced drive provides smoother cutting with less shatterloss. Non-clog knife guards fully enclose the knives for cleaner cutting. The higher knife speed, double cut knife system and longer knife stroke all enhance cutting capacity. Knife sections are self-cleaning, and are bolted on for easy replacement in the field.

Short and long folding crop dividers: Just fold the dividers into the platform for transport no need to remove them before you use the roads and no need to carry heavy attachments or search for storage space either.

Premium Flow headers Maximise your combines harvesting ability without having to convert the header between crops. Material is actively transported from the cutterbar to the feed auger in a constant flow. This boosts your combines output significantly even in laid crops.

Sunflower attachment Sunflowers have fragile stems and the heads often fall to the ground before they enter the machine. This easy to fit solution uses sheet metal covers on the reel to prevent spiking of the heads.

Header trailers Transport your headers safely with these sturdy vario trailers that allow quick and simple rape extension attachment. Features include solid centre frames and support wheels and heavy duty axles and tyres.

RapsProfi II Rape seed can be challenging to harvest: the stems are interwoven and the pods burst when they hit the cutterbar. This extension cuts losses by up to 30 kg per hectare, so it pays for itself in no time. Fits easily, no tools required.

600C corn heads: High speed harvesting

Higher yields and hybrids with tougher stalks are a real challenge at harvest. Thats why we build our 600C corn heads for reliability and strength. All components are robust enough to harvest even the toughest, thickest crop effortlessly. The fluted knife rolls have an opposing blade design for aggressive cutting and crimping. The high performance gathering chains, auger and trough make sure every kernel makes it inside the combine. The bottom line? Fewer tossed ears, less ear shelling and less free grain in the trough.

Optional CommandTouch Multi-Speed Feederhouse Drive System delivers higher capacity feeding in the heaviest yielding corn. A reliable PowerShift transmission provides up to 42% more torque capacity and enables operation of the corn head in five speed ranges. Adjust the speed of your corn head easily from the cab by pressing one button on the multi function lever.

Gentle geometry The special design of the stalk rolls ensures optimal material transport. Stalks are drawn through more gently and then chopped finely and consistently by the StalkMaster chopper.

However tough or green your crop may be, this heavy duty feederhouse converts it into an even mat that feeds the separator perfectly. To keep crop flowing smoothly, we fit a rugged conveyor that rotates on a large, floating front drum. A 5-speed feederhouse drive with a high-torque slip clutch and a 135 hp reverser that removes even the toughest plugs effortlessly. Thanks to our unique straight through design, the feeding, threshing and separating components are all the same width. That way, the crop mat doesnt have to change shape or direction.

Top capacity. Top quality. The new Variable Stream rotor.

The new S-Series gives you the best of both worlds: proven single-tine separation, plus a new high performance rotor thats designed specifically for high yielding crops and conditions. Higher capacity The larger, more tapered front cone boosts capacity significantly with an increased area to handle crop. Together with the tapered rear discharge, it also improves the quality of straw. And because it reduces rotor load and power consumption, it saves on fuel too. Gentler threshing With more space around the rotor, the threshing unit now lets you thresh more gently perfect for high yielding crop conditions.
Crop flows into the threshing section from the feed accelerator. Rifling grooves on the threshing elements draw the crop material forward more smoothly, allowing the rotor to deliver better threshing performance. Heavy duty vanes propel crop from the threshing section to the separating section. The elliptical design uses a pull-and-release principle for better performance in high moisture crop conditions.

Electrically adjustable top cover vanes alow you to optimise the separator for the best straw quality or the best separating performance from the cab. If you are operating in high, britle or in very green conditions, you will always run the machine at its highest performance, even in frequently changing conditions.

Crop material is swept away by the tapered rear discharge. A longer discharge grate under the beater sends every last grain to the tank. Vanes on the discharge housing spread material for a more uniform flow to the chopper.

S-Series tri-stream crop flow delivers more uniform crop flow The front of the module is composed of three feed sections. In front of the rotor the feed accelerator prepares the crop flow as the module spins, material is delivered by the feed accelerator and the tri-stream feeding process around the whole circumference of the rotor. This provides smoother, more uniform material flow, especially in high moisture, high yielding crops and green conditions.

Switch concaves for more versatility The new S-Series gives you the versatility you need to harvest profitably and efficiently. Choose one of three concave options: 1. Standard small / small / large wire configuration for small grain crops. 2. Round bar concaves for maize. 3. Full large wire configurations for beans and other largegrain crops. Easier than you think Switching concaves is surprisingly simple. Once youre finished, just pull the lever of the dual-speed rotor gearbox and then select the right speed for your next crop. Done!

High capacity cleaning with easy in-cab adjustment

The S-Series cleaning system is the perfect match for the outstanding threshing and separation capacity of the new S-Series combine. The new shoe has a large one-piece chaffer and a larger sieve. This extended design makes it much easier to set your combine for performance. Tailings are lower too. You can adjust the sieve settings electronically in moments from the comfort of your cab. That said, our chaffer needs fewer adjustments anyway, even on slopes. It has the fastest speeds and the longest stroke on the market. A significant boost in capacity The all NEW S-Series cleaning shoe is a significant boost in performance over the previous design. This is due to the extended sieve and NEW sieve nose that directs the air from the fan. The new design provides X% more capacity than our current S690 and comes standard on all S-Series models. Thats big combine capacity ensuring youll never need to worry about cleaning performance.

Higher capacity, gentler threshing: Our new Active tailings return system.
If you run a large combine and work to full capacity, our active tailings return system is a must. By handling returns that would normally go back to the separator (and take separator performance), it increases the total capacity of your machine. Better still, it is so easy to adjust. Our active tailings return uses less aggressive concave settings than the ones in your separator and handles sensitive crops gently maintaining our reputation for super high grain quality.

Uniform distribution
Four conveyor augers move material onto the shoe steadily and evenly, even on hillsides or when going up or down hills.

Improved fan performance

The fan ensures peak performance and a clean grain sample. A steep pressure curve delivers high pressure with less volume loss. About 30% of the air goes to the front chaffer at high speed; the rest goes to the rear chaffer and sieve.

2-stage pre-cleaning
The fixed front chaffer helps thin the crop mat; the raised front chaffer pre-cleans up to 40% of the grain before it reaches the rear chaffer.

Our Advanced PowerCast option spreads wider still even in strong cross winds. In-cab control Adjust wind compensation settings or switch from chop to drop, from the convenience of your cab. Straw spreader Spreads straw up to 10 metres. Ideal when harvesting rice or for any other operation that requires no chopper.

Fine Cut straw chopper This 44 winged-knife chopper spreads straw evenly across header widths of up to 9 metres. Chaff is sent straight to the straw chopper.

Electronic vane tailboard This is ideal on slopes and in strong winds but also improves distribution under normal conditions at widths up to 9 metres. You can set and adjust all compensation settings on-the-go, using the display in your cab.

Premium residue management

Chop or drop ... For the ultimate in flexibility and comfort, choose a John Deere premium residue management system. That way, you can either drop straw and spread chaff or chop straw and spread all material, easily and effectively, even at header widths above 9 metres. And even in strong cross winds. ... but never stop. Better still, you can switch from chop to drop (and back) without leaving your seat and without even stopping your combine. All from the CommandCenter display in your cab.

The overshot beater is ideal when you want straw without chaff (for example, as bedding for livestock). Straw and chaff are separated at the rear of the combine; the straw can be dropped in a windrow, while chaff is routed through the chopper, then distributed over the full header width by the vane tailboard, PowerCast or Advanced PowerCast system.

Advanced Power Cast Even in the strongest of crosswinds, this unit provides excellent spreading at widths above 12 metres. You can adjust wind compensation settings on-the-go from the CommandCenter in your cab.

Premium straw chopper This high performance chopper has 100 grooved knives in four rows, against 57 stationary knives producing the ultimate in fine cut straw.

Chop mode This chops chaff and straw together, so mixtures are extremely consistent and are very evenly spread.

The new S-Series is powered by the finest engine weve ever built: a 6-cylinder John Deere PowerTech PSX with dual turbochargers. The S670 model has a 9 l version that delivers 317 kW (425 hp/431 PS). Bigger models use the 13 l version with up to 460 kW (617 hp/626 PS)*. Horsepower you can depend on The secret to this impressive power lies in the dual turbochargers (1 fixed, 1 variable geometry) and the high pressure common rail system. With the aid of DOC + DPF filtering techniques, even the smallest particles can be removed. Heres how it works: The DOC reacts with exhaust gases to reduce carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and some particulate matter. The DPF traps and holds the remaining particulate matter. The DPF oxidizes the trapped particulate matter, using heat from the exhaust filter. This continuous cleaning process takes place under normal operating conditions.

When ground conditions change, ProDrive lets you shift smoothly between speed ranges at the push of a button to keep harvesting at the speed you want. Speed selection Set one speed for normal harvesting, the other for faster field work or transport. Then select any speed in either range by using the hydrostatic control handle on your CommandArm console. Power to spare ProDrive makes light work of tough conditions. It delivers up to 64% more torque at a harvesting speed of 8 km/h.

High flotation tyres reduce soil compaction by increasing your combines footprint without increasing its width. That way, you always get the best results within the transport width you require.

Thanks to their outstanding load index, you can run at very low air pressures. This in turn increases your footprint and traction distributing the load evenly, reducing ground compaction. These high performance tyres offer reduced ground pressure that reduce total input costs and help you get difficult harvesting jobs finished sooner. High floatation tyres reduce the risk of soil damage and loss of structure due to compaction and help avoid the frequency of primary tillage required. We offer a range of tyres to meet your needs.
