Pay & Allowances: During the initial training period, stipend ofRs.5700/pm will be admissible but on successful completion of initial training an amount equal to theminimumof scale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible with retrospective effect. On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs.520020200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus DA. 6. Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of Rs 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay @Rs.4800/- Plus MSP @Rs. 2000/ - plus DA. Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations/selection process and meet the eligibility criteria. 7. Perquisites: During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc. free of cost. These candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch. (h) No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment / enrolment after a period of six months. (i) All candidates selected in preliminary screening will be forwarded Police Verification form and the candidates will be required to submit the same to INS Chilka after getting their antecedents verified on this form from the concerned district police authorities. Candidates without the verified police verification reports will not be eligible for enrolment. SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Musical Screening Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations. 9. Screening Test - Eligible short listed candidates will be sent call-up letters, giving date, time and place for preliminary screening to select suitable candidates based on their musical aptitude, potential and aural ability. The screening is likely to be held from 02 July to 06 July 2012. Those who qualify the preliminary screening will be required to undergo a medical examination. Medically fit candidates will proceed to INS Kunjali, Colaba, Mumbai for final screening and selection on All India Basis scheduled from 10 to 13 September 2012. Candidates selected during final screening at INS Kunjali will undergo Final Enrolment Medicals at INHS Asvini. After final selection, selected candidates will be enrolled and sent to INS Chilka (Orissa) for initial training. 10. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection. PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. 11. Medical Standards: Medical examination will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry. Minimum height 157 cms.Weight and Chest should be proportionate. Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms. Good mental, medical and physical health free from any disease/ disability, likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. Colour perception: CP II. No Cardio- vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, vericose vein, corrective surgery for eye sight etc. Medical standard should be as per the detailed guidelines issued by IHQ MoD (Navy) in NO (Spl) 01/2008. verification by the Board. 11. SELECTION PROCESS: The candidates shall be issued Admit cards to appear in recruitment test. The date and venue of recruitment test will be indicated in Admit card. It is clarified that candidature of candidates who are issued admit cards will remain provisional till they are finally selected and submit all related documents/certificates in original and prescribed format. There shall be no checking of documents at this stage and the candidates who report on the basis of admit card, will have to undergo the following recruitment tests:- a) Height Bar At the very beginning of recruitment process, candidates will be asked to go through the height bar test. The candidates not meeting the prescribed height will be removed from the process. b) Race - The candidates, who qualify the Height Bar Test, will be subject to qualify the following RACE event for further test. No marks will be awarded for this test, which will remain only qualifying in nature:-
c) Checking of documents :- The documents of candidates will be checked by the Board. Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification and photocopies will be retained with the application form. Those who clear this stage will go to PST. d) Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates found eligible in documentation will be screened for height, chest and weight measurements by the Board. Those who do not meet the required physical measurements will be removed from the process at this stage only. e) Physical Efficiency Test (PET)(Only for SI and HC (Telecommunication):- The candidates who clear the PST stage will be required to undergo PET which will consist of the following. (i) For SI (Telecommunication) Long Jump 12 feet (Maximum 03 chances) High Jump 3.9 feet (Maximum 03 chances) Shot Put 14.8 feet (Maximum 03 chances) (ii) For HC (Telecommunication) Long Jump 11 feet (Maximum 03 chances) High Jump 3-1/2 feet (Maximum 03 chances) Note - Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks. Candidates must qualify in both the events. Those who do not qualify in either of PET events will be discarded then and there and will not be allowed to appear in further tests. No Race or Physical Efficiency Test will be held for Ex-servicemen. However, ex-servicemen will be required to pass the requisite PST, written examinations and medical examination. f) Written Examination (100 Marks): The candidates who qualify PST/PET will be required to pass the written examination consisting of following:-

Constable (Telecommunication) - Between 18 to 23 years - (i) Essential: Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent (ii) Desirable: Diploma or Certificate Course from an Industrial Training Institute or any other recognized Institution. Constable (Animal Transport) - Between 18 to 25 years - Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board 6. CUT OFF DATE FOR AGE AND RELAXATION IN UPPER AGE LIMIT: Cut off date for determining the age will be 26.04.2012 (a) Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and for OBC by 3 years. (b) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for a Govt. servant in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Govt. (c) Upper age limit is relaxable upto 5 years in the following categories:- (i) The children and dependent family members of those killed in 1984 riots and riots of 2002 in Gujarat. MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL STANDARDS: (i) Physical Standards (Height and Chest). Description: For candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST). Height (Minimum): 162.5 cms. Chest (For SI/Telecom): 77-82 cms. Chest (For HC/Telecom and CT/Telecom & CT/Animal Transport): 76-81 cms. For all States and Union Territories (except categories mentioned above) - 170 cms - 80-85 cms - 80-85 cms. (ii) Weight: Corresponding to height and age as per medical standards. (iii) Medical Standard: (a) Eye sight: Should be medically fit in all respects (Eye sight 6/ 6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing glasses. (b) Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should posses high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. Note: Candidates who intends to avail relaxation in Height/Chest measurement will have to submit certificate as per Annexure- V.. 8. (g) Interview (For Sub-Inspector, HC and CT (Telecommunication) only)- 10 Marks:- The candidates who qualify the written examination will be put through an interview to check personal bearing, response, aptitude and general level of intelligence etc. Though, there will be no qualifying marks for Interview but the marks obtained by the candidates will be included while preparing the merit list. (h) Merit List Merit lists in respect of each category will be drawn on the basis of combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview. However, merit list for the post of CT/AT will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination. The candidates shall be short listed for detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per the category-wise vacancies on the basis of this merit. (j) Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Candidates selected in order of merit will be put through medical examination to assess their fitness as per the standards fixed for recruitment to the respective post. (k) Appeal against rejection in detailed medical examination: i) A candidate declared unfit in detailed medical examination, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, can submit an appeal for his re-medical examination with duly filled Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure VI.) as a piece of evidence about possibility of error of judgment in the decision of the Medical Officer at the time of Recruitment. ii) The appeal for remedical examination will not be taken into consideration unless it contains duly filled medical fitness certificate in the prescribed proforma (Annexure VI.), a note by the medical practitioner concerned to the effect that it has been given in full knowledge of the fact that the candidate has already been rejected as unfit for appointment by a Medical Officer; iii) The appeal for re-medical examination will not be taken into consideration unless the original Rejection Slip issued by the Presiding Officer is enclosed and re-Examination Fee of Rs. 25/- is also enclosed in form of Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft in the name of Commandant, Base Hospital, ITB Police, New Delhi. (iv) The appeal should be submitted within 15 days from the date of rejection to the concerned authority at the address given in rejection slip. The appeals received after 15 days will not be entertained. ITBP will not be responsible delay in postal transit. (v) The decision of the Re-medical Board of ITBP shall be final and no 2nd appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence/2nd appeal will be given/entertained. 12. Their seniority upon absorption will count retrospectively from the date of start of the course at IIT/Delhi. Probation: After induction as Assistant Manager (AM), they will be on probation for a period of two years. QUALIFICATIONS (as on 01.01.2012): A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. D. WRITTEN EXAMINATION - Written Examination Structure:-
The scores awarded to qualified candidates are also likely to be used by a few other Banks and Financial Institutions like IDBI, ECGC etc. for selection for entry level Officers posts. Candidates will however have to satisfy the eligibility criteria for these organizations as individually stipulated by them. As per the procedure for recruitment, all individuals who aspire to join any of the above Public Sector Banks as Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees will necessarily be required to take the CWE. Prospective candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS after carefully reading the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards. Candidates who appear for the CWE will be able to check their qualifying status after the examination. Scorecards will be issued only to those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks and above in each test of the examination. Each participating Public Sector Bank will independently issue a separate recruitment notification, specifying their vacancies and stipulating their respective eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualification, experience (if any), minimum required level of IBPS score in each component test plus Total Weighted Standard Score (if any) etc. Successful candidates in the CWE who have been issued scorecards and who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria will then be required to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to, quoting their personal details and their CWE scores. Each bank will then individually shortlist candidates and carry out their own selection processes such as Group Discussions and/ or Interviews etc. for final selection. B. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (as on 01.01.2012) Prospective Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS before applying for the Common Written Examination (CWE): Please note that the eligibility criteria specified herein are the basic criteria for applying to various Public Sector Banks. However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for and qualifying in the examination does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks as each Bank will stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria. I. Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be a Citizen of India. II Age (As on 01.01.2012): Minimum: 20 Years Maximum: 30 Years The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates. Relaxation of Upper age limit: Category: 1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Age relaxation: 5 years. 2. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) - 3 years. 3. Persons With Disabilities - 10 years. 4. Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment - 5 years. 6. Persons affected by 1984 riots - 5 years. 7. Persons who have completed 5 years of service in RRBs - 5 years. 8. Clerical Employees of Participating PSBs (relaxation is as applicable only to employees of those Banks where relaxation is available and to the extent of the respective Banks policy) - 6 years. Note: (i) In case of a candidate who is eligible for relaxation under more than one of the above categories the age relaxation will be available on a cumulative basis with any one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above. (ii) Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit copies of necessary certificate(s) at the time of Interview conducted by a particular Bank, if called by the Bank. (iii) Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group C & D will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group C/ D under the Central Government. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs. (iv) An Ex-Servicemen who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Servicemen for his reemployment, his Ex-Servicemen status for the purpose of the reemployment in Government ceases. DEFINITION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: Under Section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995 only such persons would be eligible for reservation who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board appointed by the Central/State Govt. Accordingly, candidates with the following disabilities are eligible to apply. Applicants claiming such benefits should produce certificate in original in support of their claim at the time of Interview conducted by a particular Bank, if called by the Bank. Visually Impaired (VI) - Blindness refers to condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions namely (1) Total absence of sight, (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses. (iii) Limitation of the field of vision subtending in angle of 20 degrees or worse. Low vision means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive connection but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning of execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): The deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non- functional for ordinary purposes of life i.e. total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear, understand sounds at all even with amplified speech. Hearing impairment means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. Orthopaedically Challenged (OC): Locomotor Disability means disability of bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non-progressive conditions of person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal, peri-natal or infant period of development. All the cases of Orthopaedically Challenged Persons would be covered under the category of Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy. Guidelines for Persons With Disabilities using a Scribe: The visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply: The candidate will have to arrange his own scribe at his/her own cost. The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated criteria. The scribe may be from any academic stream. Both the candidates as well as scribes will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe mentioned above. Further incase it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination. Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination. C. EDUCATIONAL
The above tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition will be printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated. Other detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in an Information Handout, on IBPS website which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letter. E. PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question. F. STANDARDIZED SCORES: The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates will further be converted into standardized scores following Linear Conversion Method. If the total for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer, i.e. if fraction exceeds by 0.50 or more, it will be rounded off to next higher integer. G. CUTOFF SCORE: Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standardized score in each of the tests to qualify in the written examination and to be considered for vacancies in the participating banks. The cut-off points will be decided based on the average (Average Standard Deviation for General category candidates and Average Standard Deviation for Reserved Category candidates). H. CWE SCORE CARD: IBPS will print the Score Cards for each of the qualifying candidates and will send the same by Registered/ Speed post to each candidate at the correspondence address specified in his/ her online application. I. VALIDITY OF CWE SCORE CARD: The scores awarded to candidates, who qualify in CWE-PO/MT-II, will be valid for one year from the date of issuance of the scorecard and will be considered for recruitment exercises during that period. Candidates who have been declared as qualified in the previous CWE (I) are also permitted to apply, if they wish to improve their scores and/or keep the scores valid for a further period of 1 year from the date of issuance of scorecards of this CWE (CWE-PO/MT-II). J. EXAMINATION CENTERS: (i) The written examination will be conducted in venues across many centres in India. The list of Written Examination centres is available in Annexure I. (ii) IBPS, however, reserves the right to delete any of the Examination Centres and/ or add some other Centres, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc. (iii) As far as possible candidates will be allotted to a centre of his/her choice however IBPS also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any of the Centre other than the one he/she has opted for. (iv) Candidate will appear in the written examination from a Examination Centre at his/her own risks and expenses and IBPS will not be responsible for any injury or losses etc. of any nature. (v) No request for change of centre for Written Examination shall be entertained. K. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING: It is proposed to impart Pre-Examination Training to a limited number of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Minority Communities at some centers viz. Agartala, Agra, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Balasore, Bareilly, Behrampur (Ganjam), Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Dhanbad, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Gulbarga, Hubli, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Karnal, Kavaratti, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Muzaffarpur, Mysore, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji (Goa), Patiala, Patna, Port Blair, Puducherry, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shimla, Shillong, Siliguri, Thiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijaywada and Vishakhapatnam. All eligible candidates who wish to avail of Pre-Examination Training should fill in the relevant column in the ON-LINE APPLICATION. All expenses regarding traveling, boarding, lodging etc. will have to be borne by the Candidate for attending the pre-examination training programme at the designated Centers. or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on being declared as invalid, by 5 years. Note: 1. The relaxation in upper age limit is cumulative as per Govt. of India Guidelines. 3. Above relaxation are available only if the candidates fulfill the various conditions prescribed in the Govt. of India orders and instructions in this regard. To claim age relaxation reserved category candidates should submit a copy of Caste/Category Certificate. Defination of Ex- Servicemen (EXSM): (i) Ex- Servicemen: Only those candidates shall be treated as ExServicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Govt of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Deptt. of Personnel & Administrative Reforms notification No. 36034/5/85/Estt(SCT) dated 27.10.1986 as amended from time to time. (iii) Dependents of Ex-Servicemen killed in action (DXS): Servicemen killed in the following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action attributable to military service (a) war, (b) war like operations or Border Skirmishes either with Pakistan on cease fire line or any other country, (d) serving with peace keeping mission abroad, (e) laying or clearance of mines including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month before and three months after conclusion of an operation, (f) frost bite during actual operations or during the period specified by the Government, (g) dealing with agitating para military forces personnel, (h) IPKF Personnel killed during the operations in Sri Lanka. Note: (1) Candidates still serving in Defence Services and desirous of applying under Ex-Servicemen category should submit a certificate from the competent authority that they would be released/retired on or before 30.06.2011 (2) An Ex-Servicemen who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Servicemen for his re-employment including a job in the Public Sector Undertaking ceases to enjoy ex-servicemen status for further employment. Definition : Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Definition of categories of Disabilities: (a) An Orthopedically Challenged (OC) person is one suffering from Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy. Persons who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability (as certified by Medical Board appointed by the Central/State Govt.) would be eligible for reservation in services/posts. Locomotor Disability means disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any from of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of a person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain in suit or injuries occuring in the pre natal, peri-natal or instant period of development. (b) Deaf & Hearing Impaired: (HI): The deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life ie total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear, understand sound at all even with amplified speech .hearing impairment means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. (c) Visually Impaired (VI): The visually impaired persons are those suffering from blindness of low vision. Blindness refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions (i) total absence of sight (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses, (iii) Limitation of the field or vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse. Person with low vision: means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment of standard refractive correction, but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. Use of Scribe: The visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used the following rules will apply: i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria. iii) The scribe can be from any academic discipline. The scribe should possess 60% or lesser marks. iv) Both the candidates as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case, it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or suppresses material facts and candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled irrespective of the written examination. v) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination. 04. SYLLABUS & MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION: The syllabus of the examination will be based on the standards of essential qualification required for the post.
