The purpose of this method statement is to outline the


procedures and steps to be followed for the effective
application of anti-termite treatment at the specified site. This
treatment aims to prevent and eradicate termite infestations,
safeguarding the structure against potential damage.

2. SCOPE
This method statement applies to all personnel involved in the
application of anti-termite treatment at the designated site. It
encompasses the necessary precautions, materials,
equipment, and procedures required to execute the treatment
safely and efficiently.

5. PROCEDURE:
5.1 Site Preparation

 Ensure that the site is clear of debris, obstructions, and any


materials that may impede the application process.
 Review the safety data sheets (SDS) and handling instructions for
the selected anti-termite chemicals.
 Equip personnel with the necessary protective gear and ensure their
familiarity with safety procedures.

5.2 Mixing of material

 As per manufacturer recommendations


5.3 Application
 Prepare the anti-termite chemical solution according to the
manufacturer's instructions, ensuring the correct dilution
ratio.
 Commence application from the foundation level, working
upwards for comprehensive coverage.
 Apply the chemical solution evenly and thoroughly to all
susceptible areas, including Foundation footings and
perimeter, Soil around the building perimeter.
 Ensure that the chemical penetrates the soil and substrate
adequately for long-lasting protection.
 Monitor the application process continuously, addressing any
issues or discrepancies promptly.
 Allow sufficient time for the treated areas to dry and the
chemical to take effect, as per the manufacturer's
recommendations.
 Conduct a final inspection to verify the effectiveness of the
treatment and ensure complete coverage.
 Dispose of any leftover chemicals and cleaning materials
responsibly, following environmental regulations.

6. QUALITY ASSURANCE/CONTROL
 Maintain detailed records of the treatment process, including
chemical usage, application methods, and inspection findings.
 Conduct periodic checks and follow-up inspections to assess
the ongoing effectiveness of the anti-termite treatment.

 Address any issues or deficiencies promptly, implementing


corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance with
quality standards and client expectations.
 Prevent contamination of water sources, vegetation, and
wildlife habitats by exercising caution during chemical
handling and application.

7. RESPONSIBILITIES / SUPERVISION:

 The Construction Manager is overall responsible to


provide required essentials to subcontractor and aware of
this method statement to carry out the work as planned and
without any delay.

 The QA/QC Engineer is responsible to ensure that work has


been done as per the specification and drawings; inspections
are done as per the Inspection and Test plan and offer works
for Consultant’s inspection after verification.

 The Safety Engineer is responsible to ensure that all Safety


precautions are in place as per the project safety plan, and
that all personal on site are using the required Personal
Protective Equipment’s like – Helmet, Gloves, Shoes, and
Coveralls.

8. HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS:


 Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
 Do not inhale spray mist and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
 Keep the treatment area inaccessible to unauthorized personnel
until the chemical has dried completely and is deemed safe for re-
entry.
 INGESTION: Plastic pellets considerably reduce the risk of ingestion.
However, as a pure ingredient, it has a high toxicity level.
 In case of accidental exposure or ingestion, follow the
emergency procedures outlined in the safety data sheets and
seek medical attention immediately.
 INHALATION: The product does present any intoxication risk
by means of inhalation, but if it were to occur deliberately,
move patient to a ventilated and dry place and with fresh air.
