Interpretation :
TSH is elevated in primary hypothyroidism, but normal or marginally elevated in central hypothyroidism. Depressed or undetectable TSH is seen in primary

hyperthyrodism. TT4 is used as an aid in the assessment and diagnosis of thyroid status. Elevated TT4 conc. are seen in hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, OCPs,

estrogens, infectious and active hepatitis and depressed in overt hypothyroidism, nephrotic syndrome, major systemic illness, glucocorticoid and androgen

therapy. TT3 represents physiologically active thyroid hormone and provides a good estimate of thyroid reserve. Elevated TT3 may be observed in pregnancy,

estrogen therapy, malnutrition, renal failure and antithyroid drugs

Note: Suggested Clinically Correlation
