1. Introduction

Scanner Set is a PC software used to support our company's one-dimensional and QR handheld
scanners, demo scanners, and embedded scanners. It mainly performs device configuration
settings and device interaction. It includes the following main functions:
 Device online: Obtaining device information and setting parameters, allowing for modification
of settings and device interaction.
 Device offline: You can select the corresponding device for configuration.
 Support device firmware updates.
 Open/save device settings.
 Generate setting codes, support saving as PDF or Word files.
 Obtain device images.
 Support interaction with devices through commands.
 Supports both Chinese and English interfaces.

2. Supported Devices

 Handheld scanner: HM-3050SR, HN-1308SR, HN-1358SR, HN-3208SR, HN-3308SR, HN-3378SR,


HN-3508SR, HN-3578SR, HN-6208SR, HN-6278SR, HM-7208HD, HN-7278HD, HN-8208SR.
 Demo Scanner: DD2208, HP-1207WA, HP-1307WA, HP-2208SR, HP-5208SR.
 Embedded Scanner: HE-1218WA, HE-1318WA.

3. Installation

1) Double click on the installation package.


2) Select the target location and click "Next".

3) Select the additional task and click "Next".

4) Click "Install" to start installing Scanner Set.

5) Click "Finish". Scanner Set installation completed.

4. Usage

Important: This software requires an available network environment, please ensure that your
network is in a normal state.

4.1. Main interface

4.1.1. Working mode


The Scanner Set supports three modes: Online device/Offline device/Command interaction.
Online device: After the device is connected to the PC, the Scanner Set can detect the device and
obtain device settings.
Offline device: Users can select the corresponding device, modify the settings, and generate a
settings file.
Command interaction: After the device is connected to the PC, users can communicate with the
device through commands.

4.1.2. Switch language
Click on the "Language" drop-down menu in the upper right corner to switch between Chinese and
English.

The main interface displays as follows:

If you enter another interface, click the interface button in the upper left corner to return to the
main interface.

4.1.4. Check for updates
Click on "Check for updates" in the upper right corner to view the current version of the Scanner
Set. If you need to update the software, you can click "Check for updates" to update the latest
version of Scanner Set online.

4.2. Online device

4.2.1. View device information


1) Click "Online device" to enter the online device list interface.

2) View the product name, COM port, SN number, and version number of the online device.

Note: Click "Refresh" and the Scanner Set will re-detect devices connected to the PC.

4.2.2. Enter the device settings interface
1) Click on "Online device".

2) Double click on the corresponding device to enter the device settings interface.

If the device is online, the software will directly obtain the supported settings from the device and
display the current value of each setting.

 Click "Settings" to modify communication interface settings (interface type, RS-232 settings,
keyboard settings), system settings (scan settings, hardware settings):

 Click on "Barcode settings" to modify the device barcode settings (global settings,
one-dimensional code, QR code, OCR, postal, compound code):

 Click on "Data format" to set the following parameters:

4.2.3.2. Configuration History

The configuration history module on the right side displays the configuration items modified
by the user. Click "undo" on the right side of the modification item to undo the operation and
restore it to its original value.

4.2.3.3. Save Configuration

Click "Save" to save all current configuration items as XML configuration files locally.
Click "Save to device" to send the modified settings to the device connected to the PC.

4.2.3.4. Get image

1) Enter the device settings interface.


2) Click "Get image".
3) Turn on the "Get image" switch.
4) Click "Single acquisition" to obtain an image. Click "Continuous acquisition" to obtain multiple
images.
The software will retrieve the corresponding image from the device and display it based on the
selected parameters.

4.2.3.5. Device interaction

Users can communicate with the device by directly sending setting instructions.
1) Enter the device settings interface.
2) Click on "Device interaction".
3) You can perform the following actions:

 Click "Command interaction" to modify device configuration through commands.
Note: For command related formats, please refer to the user manual.

 Click on "Setting barcode" to set and generate a "1D Bar Code" or "All In One Bar Code"
setting code.
Note: To use this function, it is necessary to turn on the global configuration switch for
barcode settings.

1D Bar Code:
Generate one-dimensional code: Select the configuration to generate one-dimensional code,
and then click "Generate one-dimensional code" to generate the corresponding
one-dimensional code for the configuration item. Checking multiple configurations will
generate multiple one-dimensional codes.
Save as PDF: Click to save the generated one-dimensional code as a PDF file locally.
Save as Word: Click to save the generated one-dimensional code as a word file locally.
Title: Enter the content of the Title field in a PDF/Word file.
Comments: Enter the content of the Comments field in the PDF/Word file.

Display text: When checked, hexadecimal text will be displayed below the one-dimensional
code.
Show function text: When checked, the function text will be displayed below the
one-dimensional code.
Function text shown above: When checked, the function text will be displayed above the
one-dimensional code.
Horizontal scale: Adjust the horizontal scale of the one-dimensional code.
Vertical scale: Adjust the vertical scale of the one-dimensional code.
Spacing: Adjust the distance between each one-dimensional code.
All In One Bar Code:
Generate QR code: Select the configuration to generate QR code, and then click "Generate QR
code" to generate the corresponding QR code for the configuration item. Checking multiple
configurations will only generate one QR code.
Save as PDF: Click to save the generated QR code as a PDF file locally.
Save as Word: Click to save the generated QR code as a word file locally.
Title: Enter the content of the Title field in a PDF/Word file.
Comments: Enter the content of the Comments field in the PDF/Word file.
Display Text: When checked, hexadecimal text will be displayed below the QR code.
Scale: Adjust the size of the QR code.

4.2.3.6. Set to COM mode

1) Enter the device settings interface.

2) If the scanner is not in COM mode, you can scan the code to set it to COM mode.

4.2.3.7. Open configuration file

1) Enter the device settings interface.

2) Click "Open" in the bottom right corner to select the saved device XML file or the
corresponding configuration item for the device XML that you have written yourself.

The Scanner Set will automatically generate the corresponding configuration page based on the
settings in the XML configuration file.

4.2.3.8. Load factory default

1) Enter the device settings interface.

2) Click on "Load factory default" in the bottom right corner to restore the configuration to its
default values.

4.1. Offline device

In this module, you can view all device models supported by the software, set parameters for them,
and then generate specific configuration files.

4.1.1. Enter the device settings interface


1) Click on "Offline device".

2) Select the corresponding device category.


Note: You can also directly search for the corresponding device model in the search box.

3) Double click on the corresponding device to enter the device settings interface.

In offline device mode, the configuration page generated by the default factory configuration of
the device will be displayed.

4.1.2.2. Configuration History

2) Click "Open" in the bottom right corner to select the saved device XML file or the
corresponding configuration item for the device XML that you have written yourself.

The Scanner Set will automatically generate the corresponding configuration page based on the
settings in the XML configuration file.

4.1.2.6. Load factory default

1) Enter the device settings interface.

2) Click on "Load factory default" in the bottom right corner to restore the configuration to its
default values.

4.2. Command interaction

In this module, users can interact with the device through instructions by selecting the port where
the device is located and opening the serial port.
1) Click on "Command interaction".

2) Enter the command, select the port number, baud rate, and stop bit, and then click "Send".
Note: For command related formats, please refer to the user manual.

Wait for the command execution result.

4.3. Firmware Update

In this module, you can manually upgrade your device by selecting the firmware to be upgraded.
1) Click on "Firmware Update".

2) Click "File selection" to select the firmware to upgrade to, and then click "Start" to update the
firmware.

After the current firmware update operation is completed, you can perform a "stop" operation.
