Liftera-A Renewal Guide

1. Hardware
0. Prepare Liftera-A and Renewal Kits

<Liftera-A>

<Renewal Kits>

Renewal Kits are composed of one board and one cable.


1. Open Liftera-A Case

You can open the case by disassembling 4 screws


2. Disconnect connectors from Liftera-A Main Board
3. Detach the board after disassembling 4 screws

4. Change the board to new Main board

<Current Board> <New Board>

Check the Red circle part. You can see the difference of two boards
5. Assemble new Main board

Place the new board on right position.

Assemble 4 screws
6. Connect all connectors

Make sure these two power connectors in correct position since they are identical in visual.

7. Remove 1 Power cable

Remove 1 power cable in red circle. It has 3 connectors like below.


8. Connect New Power cable

New power cable has just two connectors.


You can see the connection of new power cable in blue box.

9. Close Liftera-A Case


2. Firmware
0. Prepare to upgrade Firmware
You need to prepare Main board(target board), USBISP (V3.0) Tool and PC Program(CodevisionAVR)

1. Connect the USBISP tool from computer to target board

1) Change USBISP tool’s DIP-switch to feed the 5V to target board

Turn on DIP-Switch 1 of USBISP Tool as shown in the below image.

2) Connect USBISP Tool to USB port of PC and check Power LED to verify if connection is good or
NG

3) Check the USBISP COM port number in the device manager of computer

Depending on the PC, COM port number is different.

4) Connect USBISP tool to main board.

[Note] Main board should be power off state because USBISP downloader will feed 5V to main
board.

2. Download firmware from computer to target board using CodeVisionAVR program

[Note] You can easily download CodeVisionAVR Evaluation program(freeware) at the website
(http://www.hpinfotech.ro/cvavr-download.html)

1) Setting the CodeVisionAVR program

- Run CodeVisionAVR program

- Click the Settings>Programmer in Menu Bar

<Open Programmer Setting>

- Select Atmel STK500 / AVRISP as an AVR Chip Programmer and select com port number same
as in Device Manager

2) Set the Programming options

- Click the Tools>Chip Programmer in Menu Bar

- Set the chip name, download speed, programming options and so on as below.

Don’t check Program Fuse Bits. If you check the fuse bit check box, it causes system halt problem.

3) Select Firmware

- Click the File>Load FLASH in Menu Bar in Chip Programmer Window.

- Select Intel HEX files(*.hex) as a Files of type.

- Select Liftera-A_Rev2.1_20190424.hex (this hex file can be changed when a system upgrade is
required)

4) Erase Memory

- Click Program>Erase Chip in Menu Bar to remove old firmware

5) Downloading the Firmware

- Click the Program>FLASH in Menu Bar in Chip Programmer Window.

- You can see the Programming status.

- You can also see if the download succeeded or failed through verifying process.

3. GUI
0. Prepare to upgrade GUI

You need to have an USB memory to upgrade GUI

1. Copy GUI files (Font, Run and start folders) to the USB memory root-directory.

2. Insert USB memory into Liftera-A USB port before power on.

USB port is located at the back of Liftera-A.


3. Power on Liftera-A.

If USB memory which has GUI files is plugged in, Pop-up window for update will be displayed in
the upper left corner of the LCD.

Click Yes to start GUI update.
