Abstract
Women’s safety has become the primary concern all over the world. According to the
official records, the number of assaults is rising considerably. On top of that the victims
are threatened that if they try to tell anyone about it, they might kill them, due to this the
victims do not dare to lodge a police station. The main purpose of building this security
system to save the victim before any mishap takes place and to provide a highly reliable
security system. In this project, a device consists of an SOS button, Flashing lights, and
speaker. On pressing the SOS button, an alert is sent to the app where location is detected
using GPS module and this location is sent via SMS to the registered number. A shock
generator is added to the device for further security.
INTRODUCTION
Despite so many laws being revised and changed, we still cannot see strict actions taken
against such offenders. Everyday a new matter comes on the internet or on the
newspaper. Some may involve the death of the victim; some may be badly beaten. In
order to gain justice, the victim’s family must undergo a long process and yet many
times it so happens that justice is not given and all that happens is shaming of the
family. So, in order to avoid any such circumstances a lot of restrictions are put on a girl
or a woman. They are forced not to take up any job that works till sun sets, women are
asked to return home before 7pm. Many orthodox and many scared parents do not let
their girl child study. They have been kept home doing household work. Due to such
scenarios women do not get enough opportunities for proving their talents and
capability. So, this device can help women to pursue her dreams for which no matter
how late she gets home because this device will help her escape any mishap before
taking place.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Several studies have explored the use of security system for women’s by using mobile
application. The following is a brief summary of some of the key studies in this area.
:
PROPOSED SYSTEM
A proposed security system for women using a mobile application could include the
following features:
Panic button: The mobile application would have a panic button feature that can be
activated in case of emergency. The panic button could be easily accessible on the app's
main screen and would immediately send an alert to pre-selected emergency contacts.
Location tracking: The app would use GPS technology to track the user's location in
real-time. This feature would allow the user's emergency contacts to always know their
location and could help them quickly locate the user in case of emergency.
Safety tips and resources: The app could include a section with safety tips and resources
for women, including information on self-defense techniques, emergency contact
numbers, and local support organizations.
Automated emergency calls: In case of an emergency, the app could automatically call
the nearest emergency services and provide the user's location and emergency contacts'
information.
Personalized safety plans: The app could allow users to create personalized safety plans
based on their daily routines and travel routes. The app could provide recommendations
on safe routes, transportation options, and other safety tips based on the user's input.
Community features: The app could include community features, such as a forum or chat
room, where users can connect with each other, share their experiences, and offer support
and advice.
Overall, a comprehensive security system for women using a mobile application should
prioritize user safety and provide a range of features to help women feel more secure
when traveling alone or in potentially dangerous situations
.
OBJECTIVES
Providing a sense of security: The primary objective of the security system should be to
provide a sense of security to women who may feel vulnerable or threatened in certain
situations. The mobile application should be designed to help women feel safer and
more secure when they are out and about.
Safety alerts: The mobile application should be able to send safety alerts to the user in
case of any potential danger or security threat in their vicinity.
Privacy protection: The mobile application should be designed to protect the user's
privacy and personal information. It should not collect any unnecessary data and should
have a clear and concise privacy policy.
METHODOLOGY
Developing a security system for women using a mobile application requires careful
planning and implementation to ensure its effectiveness and ease of use. Here are some
suggested steps that can help in developing sucha system:
Identify the security risks and concerns that women face: It is essentialto understand
the different types of security risks and concerns that women may face in different
situations, such as while walking alone at night or traveling to a new place. This
understanding can help to develop features inthe application that address these concerns.
Identify the key features of the application: Based on the research and analysis,
identify the key features that will be included in the application. Some essential features
could be an emergency alert system, a GPS tracking system, a panic button, and a
database of emergency contacts.
Design the application user interface: The user interface of the application should be
easy to use and navigate, with clear instructions and intuitive design. The application
should also be compatible with different mobile devices and operating systems.
Test the application: Once the application is developed, it should be testedthoroughly to
ensure that it works correctly and meets the security needs ofwomen. The testing should
include both functional and usability testing.
Launch and promote the application: Once the application is tested and finalized, it
can be launched and promoted through different channels such as social media, online
forums, and word of mouth.
CONCLUSION
Hence, we conclude that this app is of great use to women who are in trouble and need
emergency help. They can save themselves by just clicking a button on the app and the
current location with longitude and latitude is directly sent to the emergency contact
saved on the app. A device made for helping a woman to take care of herself at any
point is successfully built. Implemented various parameters such as SMS sending,
Location Detection, Shock generator and Panic button through App.
