Many times, you see on the MS Excel are standard in most other Microsoft software programs like Word,
PowerPoint, while some elements are specific to MS Excel. Let us get to know MS Excel.
Title bar
- This is where the name of the workbook can be found, typically the default name of the workbook
is “ Book1” and can be change once you save your workbook for the first time.
- This includes the minimize, maximize and close button found at the upper right most corner of the
workbook.
- It is a customizable toolbar that contains commands that you may want to use. You can place the quick
access toolbar above or below the ribbon. To change the location of the quick access toolbar, click on
the arrow at the end of the toolbar and click Show Below the Ribbon.
- You can also add items to the quick access toolbar. Right click on any item in the Office button or the
Ribbon and Click Add to Quick Access Toolbar and a shortcut will be added.
Office Button
- This button allows you to create a New workbook, Open an existing file, Save a file, Print a file, View the
information about your workbook, Share, Export and more.
Ribbon
- It is the panel at the top portion of the document. It consists the tabs: Home, Insert, Draw, Page Layout,
Formulas, Data, Review, View. The Draw tab was added in the latest version of MS Excel 2019. Each Tab
is divided into groups. The Groups are logical collections of features designed to perform function that
you will utilize in developing or editing your Excel spreadsheets.
