FOREST FIRES
Forest fires are terrifying and destructive. A tiny mistake could cause a huge
fire. They could cause damage to forest plants and animals and even kill people.
Places with the most forest fires are Australia and California, especially during
droughts. Human activities cause most fire. For example, somebody leaves their
camping site without putting out the campfire, which can cause a fire. Lightning
strikes in a hot summer can also spark a forest fire. However, scientists say the
burning is part of a natural cycle. It helps clear off the ground and allows new trees
to grow.
Forest fires are very dangerous. In a forest fire, people and forest animals
could die due to breathing the harmful smoke and because they are unable to find
safe place in time. When it is dry and there is strong wind, the fire can spread
quickly and cause severe damage. It can pollute the air and causes the loss of
houses and even the lives of people and animals. To prevent forest fires, people
should be careful with campfires, keep firefighting tools handy, and check weather
conditions regularly, especially hot weather and droughts.
