THE HOLY QURAN

1-Challenge to mankind and jinn

‫ُقل َّلِئِن ٱ ْج َت َم َع ِت ٱ ْل ِإن ُس َوٱ ْل ِج ُّن َع َل ٰٓى َأن َي ْأ ُتو۟ا ِب ِم ْث ِل َه ٰـ َذا ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا ِن اَل َي ْأ ُتو َن‬
‫ِب ِم ْث ِل ِهۦ َو َل ْو َكا َن َب ْع ُض ُه ْم ِلَبْعٍض َظ ِهي ًرا‬

17/(88) Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this
Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another.

2-Protected by ALLAH (SWT)

‫ِإ َّنا َن ْح ُن َن َّز ْل َنا ٱل ِّذ ْك َر َو ِإ َّنا َلُهۥ َلَح ٰـِفُظوَن‬

15/ (9) We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it
(from corruption).

‫اَّل َي ْأ ِتي ِه ٱ ْل َب ٰـ ِط ُلِمۢنۢن َب ْي ِن َي َد ْي ِه َوَلا ِمْن َخ ْلِفِهۦ َتن ِزي ٌل ِّمْن َح ِكي ٍم َح ِمي ٍد‬
41/ (42) No falsehood can approach it from before or behind it: It is sent down by One Full of
Wisdom, Worthy of all Praise.

3-Granted as miracle to Prophet (PBUH)

‫َو ِإ َذا َلْم َت ْأ ِت ِهم ِب َٔـا َي ٍة َقاُلو۟ا۟ا َلْواَل ٱ ْج َت َب ْي َت َها ُقْل ِإ َّن َم ٓا َأ َّت ِب ُع َما ُيو َح ٰٓى ِإ َل َّى ِمن َّر ِّبى‬
‫َه ٰـ َذا َب َص ٓا ِئ ُر ِمن َّر ِّب ُك ْم َو ُه ًدى َو َر ْح َم ٌة ِّلَقْوٍم ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن‬
7/ (203) And if you do not bring them a miracle [according to their (i.e. Quraish-pagans')
proposal], they say: "Why have you not brought it?" Say: "I but follow what is revealed to me
from my Lord. This (the Qur'an) is nothing but evidence from your Lord, and a guidance and
a mercy for a people who believe."

‫َو َقا ُلو۟ا َلْواَل َي ْأ ِتي َنا ِب َٔـا َي ٍة ِّمن َّر ِّب ِه ٓۦ َأ َو َل ْم َت ْأ ِت ِهم َب ِّي َن ُة َما ِفى ٱل ُّص ُح ِف ٱ ْل ُأو َلى‬
20/ (133) And they say: If only he would bring us a miracle from his Lord! Hath there not
come unto them the proof of what is in the former scriptures?

‫َو َقا ُلو۟ا َلْوٓاَل ُأن ِز َل َع َل ْي ِه َءا َي ٰـ ٌت ِّمن َّر ِّب ِهۦ ُقْل ِإ َّن َما ٱ ْل َٔـا َي ٰـ ُت ِعن َد ٱل َّل ِه َو ِإ َّن َم ٓا َأ َن ۠ا َن ِذي ٌر ُّمِبيٌن‬
29/ (50) And they say: "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord? Say: "The signs
are only with Allah, and I am only a plain warner."

‫َأ َو َل ْم َي ْك ِف ِه ْم َأ َّن ٓا َأن َز ْل َنا َع َل ْي َك ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ َب ُي ْت َل ٰى َع َل ْي ِه ْم ِإ َّن ِفى َٰذ ِل َك َلَر ْح َمًة َو ِذ ْك َر ٰى‬
‫ِلَقْوٍم ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن‬
29/(51) Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur'an)
which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a
people who believe.

Claimed by the Holy Prophet PBUH as the miracle granted to him by Allah SWT.

‫َف ِإ َذا َقَر ْأَنٰـُه َفٱ َّت ِب ْع ُقْر َءاَنُهۥ‬
‫ُث َّم ِإ َّن َع َل ْي َنا َب َيا َن ُهۥ‬

- 75/ (16) Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. (17)
It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad) the ability to recite it (the
Qur'an). (18) And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad] through Jibril
(Gabriel)], then follow its (the Qur'an's) recital. (19) Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it
clear (to you).

5-Recitation

a. Allah SWT lays emphasis on the recitation of the Holy Quran and
contemplating over its meanings

2/121

‫ٱ َّل ِذي َن َءا َت ْي َن ٰـ ُه ُم ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ َب َي ْت ُلو َن ُهۥ َح َّق ِت َلا َو ِت ِهۦٓ ُأ ۟و َل ٰٓـ ِئ َك ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن ِب ِهۦ َو َمن َي ْك ُف ْر ِب ِهۦ‬
‫َف ُأ ۟و َل ٰٓـ ِئ َك ُه ُم ٱ ْل َخ ٰـ ِس ُرو َن‬
Those to whom We have sent the Book study it as it should be
studied: They are the ones that believe therein: Those who
reject faith therein,- the loss is their own.

‫َو ِإ َذا ِقيَل َلُهْم َت َعا َل ْو۟ا ِإ َل ٰى َمٓا َأن َز َل ٱل َّل ُه َو ِإ َلى ٱل َّر ُسو ِل َر َأ ْي َت ٱ ْل ُم َن ٰـ ِف ِقي َن َي ُص ُّدو َن َعن َك ُص ُدو ًدا‬
When it is said to them, “Come to Allah’s revelations and to the
Messenger,” you see the hypocrites turn away from you
stubbornly.

18/27

‫َوٱ ْت ُل َمٓا ُأو ِح َى ِإ َل ْي َك ِمن ِك َتا ِب َر ِّب َك اَل ُمَبِّدَل ِلَكِلَمٰـِتِهۦ َوَلن َت ِج َد ِمن ُدو ِن ِهۦ‬
‫ُمْلَتَحًدا‬

Recite what has been revealed to you from the Book of your
Lord. None can change His Words, nor can you find any refuge
besides Him

25/30,31

‫َو َقا َل ٱل َّر ُسو ُل َي ٰـ َر ِّب ِإ َّن َقْوِمى ٱ َّت َخ ُذو۟ا َه ٰـ َذا ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َمْهُج وًر ا‬
AND [on that Day] the Apostle will say: “O my Sustainer!
Behold, [some of] my people have come to regard this Qur’an
as something [that ought to be] discarded

‫َو َك َٰذ ِل َك َج َع ْل َنا ِلُكِّل َن ِب ٍّى َع ُد ًّوا ِّمَن ٱ ْل ُم ْج ِر ِمي َن َو َك َف ٰى ِب َر ِّب َك َها ِد ًيا َو َن ِصي ًرا‬
Similarly, We made enemies for every prophet from among the
wicked, but sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper.

25/73
 ‫َوٱ َّل ِذي َن ِإ َذا ُذ ِّك ُرو۟ا ِب َٔـا َي ٰـ ِت َر ِّب ِه ْم َلْم َي ِخ ُّرو۟ا َع َل ْي َها ُص ًّما َو ُع ْم َيا ًنا‬
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do
not fall upon them deaf and blind.

27/91, 92

‫ِإ َّن َم ٓا ُأ ِم ْر ُت َأ ْن َأ ْع ُب َد َر َّب َه ٰـ ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َب ْل َد ِة ٱ َّل ِذى َح َّر َم َها َوَل ُهۥ ُك ُّل َش ْى ٍء َو ُأ ِم ْر ُت َأ ْن‬
‫َأ ُكو َن ِمَن ٱ ْل ُم ْس ِل ِمي َن‬

(Tell them, O Muhammad): "I have been commanded only to

serve the Lord of this city that He has made inviolable, to serve
Him to Whom all things belong. I have been commanded to be
of those that submit to Allah

‫َو َأ ْن َأ ْت ُل َو۟ا ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َف َم ِن ٱ ْه َت َد ٰى َف ِإ َّن َما َي ْه َت ِدى ِلَنْفِسِهۦ َو َمن َض َّل َف ُق ْل ِإ َّن َم ٓا َأ َن ۠ا ِمَن‬
‫ٱ ْل ُمن ِذ ِري َن‬
And to recite the Qur'an." And whoever is guided is only guided
for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only
[one] of the warners

29/45

‫ٱ ْت ُل َمٓا ُأو ِح َى ِإ َل ْي َك ِمَن ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ ِب َو َأ ِق ِم ٱل َّص َل ٰو َة ِإ َّن ٱل َّص َل ٰو َة َت ْن َه ٰى َع ِن ٱ ْل َف ْح َش ٓا ِء‬

‫َوٱ ْل ُمن َك ِر َو َل ِذ ْك ُر ٱل َّل ِه َأ ْك َب ُر َوٱل َّل ُه َي ْع َل ُم َما َت ْص َن ُعو َن‬
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the
Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality
and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And
Allah knows that which you do

35/29, 30

‫ِإ َّن ٱ َّل ِذي َن َي ْت ُلو َن ِك َت ٰـ َب ٱل َّل ِه َو َأ َقا ُمو۟ا ٱل َّص َل ٰو َة َو َأن َف ُقو۟ا ِمَّما َر َز ْق َن ٰـ ُه ْم ِس ًّرا َو َع َلا ِن َي ًة َي ْر ُجو َن ِت َج ٰـ َر ًة َّلن‬
‫َت ُبو َر‬
Surely those who recite the Book of Allah and establish Prayer
and spend, privately and publicly, out of what We have
provided them, look forward to a trade that shall suffer no loss

‫ِلُيَوِّفَيُهْم ُأ ُجو َر ُه ْم َو َي ِزي َد ُهم ِّمن َف ْض ِل ِهۦٓ ِإ َّن ُهۥ َغُفوٌر َش ُكوٌر‬
That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for
them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative

‫ِك َت ٰـ ٌب َأن َز ْل َن ٰـ ُه ِإ َل ْي َك ُمَبٰـَر ٌك ِّلَيَّدَّبُرٓو۟ا۟ا َءا َي ٰـ ِت ِهۦ َو ِل َي َت َذ َّك َر ُأ ۟و ُلو۟ا ٱ ْل َأ ْل َب ٰـ ِب‬

This is˺ a blessed Book which We have revealed to you ˹O
Prophet˺ so that they may contemplate its verses, and people of
reason may be mindful

73/1 – 8

‫َي ٰٓـ َأ ُّي َها ٱ ْل ُم َّز ِّم ُل‬

‫ُق ٱ َّل ْي َل ِإ َّلا َقِلياًل‬
‫ِم‬
‫ِّن ْص َف ُهۥٓ َأ ِو ٱن ُق ْص ِمْنُه َقِلياًل‬
‫َأ ْو ِز ْد َع َل ْي ِه َو َر ِّت ِل ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َت ْر ِتي ًلا‬
O you wrapped ˹in your clothes

Stand up in Prayer by night, all but a small part of it

pray˺ half the night, or a little less

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation

73/20

‫ِإ َّن َر َّب َك َي ْع َل ُم َأ َّن َك َت ُقو ُم َأ ْد َن ٰى ِمن ُث ُل َث ِى ٱ َّل ْي ِل َو ِن ْص َف ُهۥ َو ُث ُل َث ُهۥ َو َط ٓا ِئ َف ٌة ِّمَن ٱ َّل ِذي َن‬
‫َمَعَك َوٱل َّل ُه ُي َق ِّد ُر ٱ َّل ْي َل َوٱل َّن َها َر َع ِل َم َأن َّلن ُت ْح ُصو ُه َف َتا َب َع َل ْي ُك ْم‬
‫َفٱ ْق َر ُءو۟ا َما َت َي َّس َر ِمَن ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا ِن َع ِل َم َأن َس َي ُكو ُن ِمنُكم َّمْر َضٰى َو َءا َخ ُرو َن‬
‫َي ْض ِر ُبو َن ِفى ٱ ْل َأ ْر ِض َي ْب َت ُغو َن ِمن َف ْض ِل ٱل َّل ِه َو َءا َخ ُرو َن ُي َق ٰـ ِت ُلو َن ِفى َس ِبي ِل ٱل َّل ِه‬
‫َفٱ ْق َر ُءو۟ا َما َت َي َّس َر ِمْنُه َو َأ ِقي ُمو۟ا ٱل َّص َل ٰو َة َو َءا ُتو۟ا ٱل َّز َك ٰو َة َو َأ ْق ِر ُضو۟ا ٱل َّل َه َقْر ًضا‬
‫َح َس ًنا َو َما ُت َق ِّد ُمو۟ا َأِلنُفِس ُكم ِّمْن َخ ْيٍر َت ِج ُدو ُه ِعن َد ٱل َّل ِه ُه َو َخ ْيًر ا َو َأ ْع َظ َم َأ ْج ًرا‬
‫َوٱ ْس َت ْغ ِف ُرو۟ا ٱل َّل َه ِإ َّن ٱل َّل َه َغُفوٌر َّر ِحي ٌۢم‬

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in

prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it,
and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines
[the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you
[Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in
forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He
has known that there will be among you those who are ill and
others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the
bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So
recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah
and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put
forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better
and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed,
Allah is Forgiving and Merciful

b. Some guidelines given about the manner of recitation

 State of cleanliness when one has to hold the Quran

‫ ِإ َّن ُهۥ َلُقْر َءاٌن َك ِري ٌم‬

‫ ِفى ِك َت ٰـ ٍب َّمْكُنوٍن‬
‫ اَّل َي َم ُّس ُهۥٓ ِإ َّلا ٱ ْل ُم َط َّه ُرو َن‬
56/(77) That this is indeed a Quran Most Honourable, (78) In Book well-guarded,
(79) Which none shall touch but those who are clean:

 Seeking refuge with Allah SWT

‫َف ِإ َذا َقَر ْأَت ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َفٱ ْس َت ِع ْذ ِبٱل َّل ِه ِمَن ٱل َّش ْي َط ٰـ ِن ٱل َّر ِجي ِم‬ 
16/ (98) When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Satan the
rejected one.

 Listening to it quietly

‫َو ِإ َذا ُقِرَئ ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا ُن َفٱ ْس َت ِم ُعو۟ا َلُهۥ َو َأن ِص ُتو۟ا َلَعَّلُكْم ُت ْر َح ُمو َن‬ 
7/ (204) When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace:
that ye may receive Mercy.

 Measured pace

‫َأ ْو ِز ْد َع َل ْي ِه َو َر ِّت ِل ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َت ْر ِتي ًلا‬ 

73/ (4) Or a little more; and recite the Qur'an in slow, measured rhythmic tones.
  As much as easy to recite

‫َفٱ ْق َر ُءو۟ا َما َت َي َّس َر ِمَن ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا ِن‬ 

73/20-----read ye, therefore, of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you.

 Made easy for us to understand

‫َوَل َق ْد َي َّس ْر َنا ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن ِللِّذْكِر َف َه ْل ِمن ُّمَّدِكٍر‬ 

54/ (22) But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember:
then is there any that will receive admonition?

 Heart should be in it

‫ِإ َّن َما ٱ ْل ُم ْؤ ِم ُنو َن ٱ َّل ِذي َن ِإ َذا ُذ ِك َر ٱل َّل ُه َو ِج َل ْت ُقُلوُبُهْم َو ِإ َذا ُت ِل َي ْت َع َل ْي ِه ْم‬ 
‫َءا َي ٰـ ُت ُهۥ َزا َد ْت ُه ْم ِإي َم ٰـ ًنا َو َع َل ٰى َر ِّب ِه ْم َي َت َو َّك ُلو َن‬
8/(2) For, Believers are those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a tremor in their
hearts, and when they hear His signs rehearsed, find their faith strengthened, and
put (all) their trust in their Lord;

‫ٱل َّل ُه َن َّز َل َأ ْح َس َن ٱ ْل َح ِدي ِث ِك َت ٰـ ًبا ُّمَتَش ٰـِبًها َّمَثاِنَى َت ْق َش ِع ُّر ِمْنُه ُج ُلو ُد ٱ َّل ِذي َن َي ْخ َش ْو َن َر َّب ُه‬
‫ْم ُث َّم َت ِلي ُن ُج ُلو ُد ُه ْم َو ُق ُلو ُب ُه ْم ِإ َل ٰى ِذ ْك ِر ٱل َّل ِه َٰذ ِل َك ُه َدى ٱل َّل ِه َي ْه ِدى ِب ِهۦ َمن َي َش ٓا ُء َو َمن ُي ْض ِل ِل‬
‫ٱل َّل ُه َف َما َلُهۥ ِمْن َها ٍد‬
39/(23) Allah has sent down the Best Statement, a Book (this Qur'an), its parts
resembling each other (in goodness and truth) (and) oft-repeated. The skins of
those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their
skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of
Allah. He Guides therewith whom He wills; and whomever Allah sends astray, for
him there is no guide.

 Contemplate / take guidance /act upon it

 ‫ِك َت ٰـ ٌب َأن َز ْل َن ٰـ ُه ِإ َل ْي َك ُمَبٰـَر ٌك ِّلَيَّدَّبُرٓو۟ا۟ا َءا َي ٰـ ِت ِهۦ َو ِل َي َت َذ َّك َر ُأ ۟و ُلو۟ا ٱ ْل َأ ْل َب ٰـ ِب‬
38/(29) (This is) a Book (the Qur'an) which We have sent down to you, full of
blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of
understanding may remember.

‫َو َل ْو َأ َّن ُه ْم َأ َقا ُمو۟ا ٱل َّت ْو َر ٰى َة َوٱ ْل ِإن ِجي َل َو َم ٓا ُأن ِز َل ِإ َل ْي ِهم ِّمن َّر ِّب ِه ْم َأَلَكُلو۟ا۟ا ِمن َف ْو ِق ِه ْم َو ِمن َت ْح ِت‬
‫َأ ْر ُج ِل ِهم ِّمْنُهْم ُأ َّم ٌة ُّمْقَتِصَدٌة َو َك ِثي ٌر ِّمْنُهْم َس ٓا َء َما َي ْع َم ُلو َن‬
5/(66) And if only they had acted according to the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel
(Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the
Qur'an), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from
underneath their feet.

‫ُقْل َي ٰٓـ َأ ْه َل ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ ِب َلْس ُتْم َع َل ٰى َش ْى ٍء َح َّت ٰى ُت ِقي ُمو۟ا ٱل َّت ْو َر ٰى َة َوٱ ْل ِإن ِجي َل َو َم ٓا ُأن ِز َل‬
‫ِإ َل ْي ُكم ِّمن َّر ِّب ُك ْم َو َل َي ِزي َد َّن َك ِثي ًرا ِّمْنُهم َّمٓا ُأن ِز َل ِإ َل ْي َك ِمن َّر ِّب َك ُط ْغ َي ٰـ ًنا َو ُك ْف ًرا‬
‫َف َلا َت ْأ َس َع َلى ٱ ْل َق ْو ِم ٱ ْل َك ٰـ ِف ِري َن‬
5/(68) Say (O Muhammad) "O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)!
You have nothing (as regards guidance) till you act according to the Taurat
(Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to you from
your Lord (the Qur'an)."

‫َمَثُل ٱ َّل ِذي َن ُح ِّم ُلو۟ا ٱل َّت ْو َر ٰى َة ُث َّم َلْم َي ْح ِم ُلو َها َك َم َث ِل ٱ ْل ِح َما ِر َي ْح ِم ُل َأ ْس َفا ًۢرا ِب ْئ َس‬
‫َمَثُل ٱ ْل َق ْو ِم ٱ َّل ِذي َن َك َّذ ُبو۟ا ِب َٔـا َي ٰـ ِت ٱل َّل ِه َوٱل َّل ُه اَل َي ْه ِدى ٱ ْل َق ْو َم ٱل َّظ ٰـ ِل ِمي َن‬
(62/5)
THE PARABLE of those who were graced with the burden of the
Torah, and thereafter failed to bear this burden, is that of an ass
that carries a load of books [but cannot benefit from them].
Calamitous is the parable of people who are bent on giving the
lie to God's messages - for God does not bestow His guidance
upon such evildoing folk!
  Clear Verses and Unclear Verses

‫ ُه َو ٱ َّل ِذ ٓى َأن َز َل َع َل ْي َك ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ َب ِمْنُه َءا َي ٰـ ٌت ُّمْح َكَمٰـٌت ُه َّن ُأ ُّم ٱ ْل ِك َت ٰـ ِب‬

‫َو ُأ َخ ُر ُمَتَش ٰـِبَهٰـٌت َف َأ َّما ٱ َّل ِذي َن ِفى ُقُلوِبِهْم َز ْي ٌغ َف َي َّت ِب ُعو َن َما َت َش ٰـ َب َه‬
‫ِمْنُه ٱ ْب ِت َغ ٓا َء ٱ ْل ِف ْت َن ِة َوٱ ْب ِت َغ ٓا َء َت ْأ ِوي ِل ِهۦ َو َما َي ْع َل ُم َت ْأ ِوي َل ُهۥٓ ِإ َّلا ٱل َّل ُه َوٱل َّٰر ِس ُخو َن ِفى ٱ ْل ِع ْل ِم َي ُقو ُلو‬
‫َن َءا َم َّنا ِب ِهۦ ُك ٌّل ِّمْن ِعن ِد َر ِّب َنا َو َما َي َّذ َّك ُر ِإ َّل ٓا ُأ ۟و ُلو۟ا ٱ ْل َأ ْل َب ٰـ ِب‬
(3/7) He it is who has bestowed upon thee from on high this divine
writ, containing messages that are clear in and by themselves - and
these are the essence of the divine writ - as well as others that are
allegorical. Now those whose hearts are given to swerving from the
truth go after that part of the divine writ which has been expressed
in allegory, seeking out [what is bound to create] confusion, and
seeking [to arrive at] its final meaning [in an arbitrary manner]; but
none save God knows its final meaning. Hence, those who are
deeply rooted in knowledge say: 'We believe in it; the whole [of the
divine writ] is from our Sustainer - albeit none takes this to heart
save those who are endowed with insight.

Hadith

MV 7 P 41
 Lessons from stories of previous people

‫َو ُك ًّلا َّن ُق ُّص َع َل ْي َك ِمْن َأ ۢن َب ٓا ِء ٱل ُّر ُس ِل َما ُن َث ِّب ُت ِب ِهۦ ُف َؤا َد َك َو َج ٓا َء َك ِفى‬ 
‫َه ٰـ ِذ ِه ٱ ْل َح ُّق َو َم ْو ِع َظ ٌة َو ِذ ْك َر ٰى ِلْلُمْؤِمِنيَن‬
(11/120) AND [remember:] out of all the accounts relating to the
[earlier] apostles We convey unto thee [only] that wherewith We
[aim to] make firm thy heart: for through these [accounts] comes
 the truth unto thee, as well as an admonition and a reminder unto
all believers

‫َلَقْد َكا َن ِفى َقَصِصِهْم ِع ْب َر ٌة ۟وُأِّلُأ‬

‫ِّل۟وِلى ٱ ْل َأ ْل َب ٰـ ِب َما َكا َن َح ِدي ًثا ُي ْف َت َر ٰى َو َل ٰـ ِكن‬
‫َت ْص ِدي َق ٱ َّل ِذى َب ْي َن َي َد ْي ِه َو َت ْف ِصي َل ُك ِّل َش ْى ٍء َو ُه ًدى َو َر ْح َم ًة ِّلَقْوٍم ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن‬
(12/111) Indeed, in the stories of these men there is a lesson for
those who are endowed with insight. [As for this revelation] it could
not possibly be a discourse invented [by man]: nay indeed, it is [a
divine writ] confirming the truth of whatever there still remains [of
earlier revelations], clearly spelling out everything, and [offering]
guidance and grace unto people who will believe.

 Best weapon the believers have

‫َف َلا ُت ِط ِع ٱ ْل َك ٰـ ِف ِري َن َو َج ٰـ ِه ْد ُهم ِب ِهۦ ِج َها ًدا َك ِبي ًرا‬ 

25/(52) Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the
utmost strenuousness, with the (Qur'an).
6-Miracle

 Unchanged since 1400 years

 Arabic remained living language

 Attractive language—41/(26) The Unbelievers say: "Listen not to this Qur'an, but talk
at random in the midst of its (reading), that ye may gain the upper hand!"

‫َو َقا َل ٱ َّل ِذي َن َك َف ُرو۟ا اَل َت ْس َم ُعو۟ا ِلَهٰـَذا ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا ِن َوٱ ْل َغ ْو۟ا ِفي ِه َلَعَّلُكْم َت ْغ ِل ُبو َن‬ 

 A book without contradiction—4/(82) Do they not consider the Qur'an (with care)?
Had it been from other Than Allah, they would surely have found therein Much
discrepancy.

‫َأ َف َلا َي َت َد َّب ُرو َن ٱ ْل ُق ْر َءا َن َوَل ْو َكا َن ِمْن ِعن ِد َغْيِر ٱل َّل ِه َلَوَجُدو۟ا۟ا ِفي ِه ٱ ْخ ِت َل ٰـ ًفا َك ِثي ًرا‬ 

 Dozens of facts mentioned in it are such which only recently modern

science has confirmed

1. Creation of universe by a big bang. C-21, V-30

‫َأ َو َل ْم َي َر ٱ َّل ِذي َن َك َف ُر ٓو۟ا َأ َّن ٱل َّس َم ٰـ َٰو ِت َوٱ ْل َأ ْر َض َكا َن َتا َر ْت ًقا َف َف َت ْق َن ٰـ ُه َما‬
‫َو َج َع ْل َنا ِمَن ٱ ْل َم ٓا ِء ُك َّل َش ْى ٍء َح ٍّى َأ َف َلا ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن‬
2.Initial gaseous mass before formation of heavenly bodies. C 41, V 11

‫ُث َّم ٱ ْس َت َو ٰٓى ِإ َلى ٱل َّس َم ٓا ِء َو ِه َى ُد َخا ٌن َف َقا َل َلَها َو ِل ْل َأ ْر ِض ٱ ْئ ِت َيا َط ْو ًعا َأ ْو َك ْر ًها‬
‫َقاَلَتٓا َأ َت ْي َنا َط ٓا ِئ ِعي َن‬
3.Spherical shape of earth.

(C 79, V 30) And after that, the earth: wide has He spread its expanse,
 ‫َوٱ ْل َأ ْر َض َب ْع َد َٰذ ِل َك َد َح ٰى َه ٓا‬
(C 39, V 5) He it is who has created the heavens and the earth in
accordance with [an inner] truth. He causes the night to flow into the
day, and causes the day to flow into the night; and He has made the
sun and the moon subservient [to His laws], each running its course for
a term set [by Him]. Is not He the Almighty, the All-Forgiving?

‫َخ َلَق ٱل َّس َم ٰـ َٰو ِت َوٱ ْل َأ ْر َض ِبٱ ْل َح ِّق ُي َك ِّو ُر ٱ َّل ْي َل َع َلى ٱل َّن َها ِر َو ُي َك ِّو ُر ٱل َّن َها َر َع َلى‬
‫ٱ َّل ْي ِل َو َس َّخ َر ٱل َّش ْم َس َوٱ ْل َق َم َر ُك ٌّل َي ْج ِرى َأِلَج ٍل ُّمَسًّمى َأ َلا ُه َو ٱ ْل َع ِزي ُز ٱ ْل َغ َّف ٰـ ُر‬
4.Movement of celestial bodies
(C 21, V 33) and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and
the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space!

‫َو ُه َو ٱ َّل ِذى َخ َلَق ٱ َّل ْي َل َوٱل َّن َها َر َوٱل َّش ْم َس َوٱ ْل َق َم َر ُك ٌّل ِفى َف َل ٍك َي ْس َب ُحو َن‬
(C 36, V 40) [and]
neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor
can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float
through space [in accordance with Our laws].

‫اَل ٱل َّش ْم ُس َيۢن َب ِغى َلَهٓا َأن ُت ْد ِر َك ٱ ْل َق َم َر َوَلا ٱ َّل ْي ُل َسا ِب ُق ٱل َّن َها ِر َو ُك ٌّل ِفى َف َل ٍك َي ْس َب ُحو َن‬
5.The expanding universe
(C51, V 47) AND IT IS We who have built the universe with [Our creative]
power; and, verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.

‫َوٱل َّس َم ٓا َء َب َن ْي َن ٰـ َها ِب َأ ْي۟ي ٍد َو ِإ َّنا َلُموِسُعوَن‬

6.Winds impregnate the clouds

(C 15, V 22) And We let loose the winds to fertilize [plants] and We send
down water from the skies and let you drink thereof: and it is not you
who dispose of its source-
 ‫َو َأ ْر َس ْل َنا ٱل ِّر َي ٰـ َح َلَٰوِقَح َف َأن َز ْل َنا ِمَن ٱل َّس َم ٓا ِء َمٓاًء َف َأ ْس َق ْي َن ٰـ ُك ُمو ُه َو َم ٓا َأن ُت ْم َلُهۥ ِب َخ ٰـ ِز ِني َن‬
(C 30, V 48) It is God who sends forth the winds [of hope], so that they
raise a cloud - whereupon He spreads it over the skies as He wills, and
causes it to break up so that thou seest rain issue from within it: and
as soon as He causes it to fall upon whomever He wills of His servants -
lo! they rejoice,

‫ٱل َّل ُه ٱ َّل ِذى ُي ْر ِس ُل ٱل ِّر َي ٰـ َح َف ُت ِثي ُر َس َحا ًبا َف َي ْب ُس ُط ُهۥ ِفى ٱل َّس َم ٓا ِء َك ْي َف َي َش ٓا ُء َو َي ْج َع ُل ُهۥ‬
‫ِك َس ًفا َف َت َرى ٱ ْل َو ْد َق َي ْخ ُر ُج ِمْن ِخ َلٰـِلِهۦ َف ِإ َذ ٓا َأ َصا َب ِب ِهۦ َمن َي َش ٓا ُء ِمْن ِع َبا ِد ِهۦٓ ِإ َذا‬
‫ُه ْم َي ْس َت ْب ِش ُرو َن‬

7.Mountains are like pegs

(C 78, V 7) and the mountains [its] pegs

‫َوٱ ْل ِج َبا َل َأ ْو َتا ًدا‬

8.Barrier between sweet and salty water
(C 55, V 19, 20) He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so
that they might meet:
[yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress.

‫َمَر َج ٱ ْل َب ْح َر ْي ِن َي ْل َت ِق َيا ِن‬

‫َب ْي َن ُه َما َب ْر َز ٌخ اَّل َي ْب ِغ َيا ِن‬
(C 25, V 53) AND HE it is who has given freedom of movement to the two
great bodies of water, the one sweet and thirst-allaying, and the other
salty and bitter - and yet has wrought between them a barrier and a
forbidding ban.

‫َو ُه َو ٱ َّل ِذى َمَر َج ٱ ْل َب ْح َر ْي ِن َه ٰـ َذا َع ْذ ٌب ُف َرا ٌت َو َه ٰـ َذا ِمْلٌح ُأ َجا ٌج َو َج َع َل َب ْي َن ُه َما‬
‫َب ْر َز ًخا َو ِح ْج ًرا َّمْحُج وًر ا‬

9.Darkness in the depths of the oceans

 (C 24, V 40) Or [else, their deeds are] like the depths of darkness upon an
abysmal sea, made yet more dark by wave billowing over wave, with
[black] clouds above it all: depths of darkness, layer upon layer, [so
that] when one holds up his hand, he can hardly see it: for he to whom
God gives no light, no light whatever has he!

‫َأ ْو َك ُظ ُل َم ٰـ ٍت ِفى َب ْح ٍر ُّلِّج ٍّى َي ْغ َش ٰى ُه َمْوٌج ِّمن َف ْو ِق ِهۦ َمْوٌج ِّمن َف ْو ِق ِهۦ َس َحا ٌب‬
‫ُظ ُل َم ٰـ ٌۢت َب ْع ُض َها َف ْو َق َب ْع ٍض ِإ َذ ٓا َأ ْخ َر َج َي َد ُهۥ َلْم َي َك ْد َي َر ٰى َها َو َمن َّلْم َي ْج َع ِل ٱل َّل ُه َلُهۥ‬
‫ُنو ًرا َف َما َلُهۥ ِمن ُّنو ٍر‬

10.Every living thing is made from water

(C21, V30) ARE, THEN, they who are bent on denying the truth not aware
that the heavens and the earth were [once] one single entity, which
We then parted asunder? and [that] We made out of water every living
thing? Will they not, then, [begin to] believe?

‫َأ َو َل ْم َي َر ٱ َّل ِذي َن َك َف ُر ٓو۟ا َأ َّن ٱل َّس َم ٰـ َٰو ِت َوٱ ْل َأ ْر َض َكا َن َتا َر ْت ًقا َف َف َت ْق َن ٰـ ُه َما َو َج َع ْل َنا‬
‫ِمَن ٱ ْل َم ٓا ِء ُك َّل َش ْى ٍء َح ٍّى َأ َف َلا ُي ْؤ ِم ُنو َن‬
(C 24, V45) And it is God who has created all animals out of water; and
[He has willed that] among them are such as crawl on their bellies, and
such as walk on two legs, and such as walk on four. God creates what
He will: for, verily, God has the power to will anything.

‫َوٱل َّل ُه َخ َلَق ُك َّل َد ٓا َّب ٍة ِّمن َّمٓاٍء َف ِم ْن ُهم َّمن َي ْم ِشى َع َل ٰى َب ْط ِن ِهۦ َو ِم ْن ُهم َّمن َي ْم ِشى‬
‫َع َل ٰى ِر ْج َل ْي ِن َو ِم ْن ُهم َّمن َي ْم ِشى َع َل ٰٓى َأ ْر َب ٍع َي ْخ ُل ُق ٱل َّل ُه َما َي َش ٓا ُء ِإ َّن ٱل َّل َه َع َل ٰى ُك ِّل َش ْى ٍء َق‬
‫ِدي ٌر‬

11.Plants and other things created in pairs also fruits created in pairs
(C 36, V 36) Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in
whatever the earth produces, and in men’s own selves, and in that of
which [as yet] they have no knowledge.

‫ُس ْب َح ٰـ َن ٱ َّل ِذى َخ َلَق ٱ ْل َأ ْز َٰو َج ُك َّل َها ِمَّما ُت ۢن ِب ُت ٱ ْل َأ ْر ُض َو ِم ْن َأن ُف ِس ِه ْم َو ِم َّما اَل َي ْع َل ُمو َن‬
(C13, V 3) And it is He who has spread the earth wide and placed on it
firm mountains and running waters, and created thereon two sexes of
every [kind of] plant; [and it is He who] causes the night to cover the
day. Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for people who think!

‫َو ُه َو ٱ َّل ِذى َمَّد ٱ ْل َأ ْر َض َو َج َع َل ِفي َها َر َٰو ِس َى َو َأ ْن َه ٰـ ًرا َو ِمن ُك ِّل ٱل َّث َم َٰر ِت َج َع َل‬
‫ِفي َها َز ْو َج ْي ِن ٱ ْث َن ْي ِن ُي ْغ ِشى ٱ َّل ْي َل ٱل َّن َها َر ِإ َّن ِفى َٰذ ِل َك َلَٔـاَيٰـٍت ِّلَقْوٍم َي َت َف َّك ُرو َن‬
(C 51, V 49) And in everything have We created opposites, so that you
might bear in mind [that God alone is One].

‫َو ِمن ُك ِّل َش ْى ٍء َخ َلْقَنا َز ْو َج ْي ِن َلَعَّلُكْم َت َذ َّك ُرو َن‬

12.During formation of human child, leech like shape ‘Alaq’
( C96, V 2) created humans from a clinging clot

‫َخ َلَق ٱ ْل ِإن َس ٰـ َن ِمْن َع َل ٍق‬

13.Pain receptors present in the skin
(C 4, V 56) for, verily, those who are bent on denying the truth of Our
messages We shall, in time, cause to endure fire: [and] every time
their skins are burnt off, We shall replace them with new skins, so that
they may taste suffering [in full] Verily, God is almighty, wise.

‫ِإ َّن ٱ َّل ِذي َن َك َف ُرو۟ا ِب َٔـا َي ٰـ ِت َنا َس ْو َف ُن ْص ِلي ِه ْم َنا ًرا ُك َّل َما َن ِض َج ْت ُج ُلو ُد ُهم َب َّد ْل َن ٰـ ُه ْم‬
‫ُج ُلو ًدا َغْيَر َها ِلَيُذوُقو۟ا۟ا ٱ ْل َع َذا َب ِإ َّن ٱل َّل َه َكا َن َع ِزي ًزا َح ِكي ًما‬
14.Clouds are weighty
(C 7, V 57) And He it is who sends forth the winds as a glad tiding of His
coming grace-so that, when they have brought heavy clouds, We may
drive them towards dead land and cause thereby water to descend;
 and by this means do We cause all manner of fruit to come forth. Even
thus shall We cause the dead to come forth: [and this] you ought to
keep in mind.

‫َو ُه َو ٱ َّل ِذى ُي ْر ِس ُل ٱل ِّر َي ٰـ َح ُب ْش ًۢرا َب ْي َن َي َد ْى َر ْح َم ِت ِهۦ َح َّت ٰٓى ِإ َذ ٓا َأ َق َّل ْت َس َحا ًبا ِث َقا ًلا‬
‫ُس ْق َن ٰـ ُه ِلَبَلٍد َّمِّيٍت َف َأن َز ْل َنا ِب ِه ٱ ْل َم ٓا َء َف َأ ْخ َر ْج َنا ِب ِهۦ ِمن ُك ِّل ٱل َّث َم َٰر ِت َك َٰذ ِل َك ُن ْخ ِر ُج‬
‫ٱ ْل َم ْو َت ٰى َلَعَّلُكْم َت َذ َّك ُرو َن‬
 Prophesied in previous Scripture.

Isaiah 29:12 (New American Standard Bible)

Then the book will be given to the one who is illiterate, saying, “Please read this.”
And he will say, “I cannot read.”

Deuteronomy 18:18
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and
will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall
command him.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He
