It was a hustling bustling day today. Me and my teammates were figuring out a stylish fashion
design for our project. We all were in total chaos as the deadline was approaching and we had
hardly started anything. Our brain was exhausted and completely cooked while figuring out the
best design to excel in our project. One of my teammates said that we should start by making
some designs for the dress and then we’ll be asking one by one from everyone about the design
and the idea of it. We didn;t waste a minute and started with our work. I could see a lot of
people struggling and losing focus while doing that. But well, I was able to make a few but
I was worried that someone would judge me so I kept quiet. I thought so because I have social
anxiety and secondly I have been a complete introvert and a shy person my whole life . I started
to doubt myself for the answer, so I didn’t say it, but I wasn’t alone, my best friend was right
beside me, she encouraged me to speak up and It took some while but I did it pushing my
negative and overthinking aside.
Then, I finally told my teammates about my idea for the dress and they all praised and clapped
for me. I finally learnt by this that you should never doubt yourself and should always trust
yourself by any means.

Now you may wonder, what is happening and why it is so important for us to take action at the
moment. Well, the reason is that ;We, humans, have been causing a lot of harm to our planet
by; causing pollution through our industries, deforestation to build our houses, burning fossil
fuels to satisfy our needs. We even pollute flora and fauna through; throwing plastic bags and
by spreading toxic chemicals coming out of factories in rivers and lakes. The effect of all these
causes has led to climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and even more.
We completely forget that it’s not only us who are living on this planet, there are many more
different species living here such as the animals, insects and plants. We are slowly capturing
the world, and are hardly leaving any space for biodiversity. Have you ever wondered what they
are going through?, well the ecosystem is almost at the edge of ending (in a few million years).
We should put a pause over this and look into more sustainable and environment friendly
aspects to protect us and nature. We should follow the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
such as SDG 11; which states sustainable cities and communities. We can follow SDG11 by
building 15 minute cities. These are the types of cities which allow easy access to our basic
needs, for example; food, hospitals, clothes, offices etc. We can use only recyclable bags
instead of plastic bags after doing either grocery shopping or supermarket shopping. By doing
this we can reduce the spread of plastic in water bodies such as rivers and lakes. This will keep
the aquatic life and the life on land healthy and clean.
We should spread awareness among our societies and communities to take practical steps to
protect the planet before it’s too late!
