DESIGN BRIEF
Statement of Intent (outcome 1)

Creating a vertical netted necklace. This pattern would be done using bugle beads and 11/0 seed
beads.

Brief description of your design (outcome 2 & 3)

My design used 6mm gold glass bugle beads and gold matsuno 11/0 seed beads.

TECHNIQUES AND SCHEDULES (ORDER OF WORK)

List the tasks (techniques) in sequence to build your design How long will each task take

1) Design your pattern, decide on colour and style.
8 hours
2) Thread the needle with 3 yards of fire line, put on a stop bead

leave four inches at the bottom.

3) Pick up four 11/0 beads go up the first bead.

4) Next pick up a bugle, 11/0 bead, bugle, 11/0, bugle, 11/0,

bugle,11/0, bugle 11/0, let it drop down. Pick up four

11/0 beads let it drop and go through the first bead let it
drop to make a picot stitch.

5) Pick up a bugle, 11/0 and bugle bead let it drop. Skip the first

11/0 bead and go to the second 11/0 bead. Repeat this step.

6) Pick up a bugle and four 11/0 beads let it drop down and go

through the first 11/0 bead making a picot stitch. Repeat this

step until you reach the desired length of your necklace.

7) The last row use a bugle and four 11/0 seed beads go up one

of the 11/0 to come on top pick up 6 11/0 beads to form a

circle by passing the needle through to make a circle reinforce

the loop.

8)Pick up four 11/0 seed beads go in the seed bead closer to the

bugle. Repeat this step throughout the necklace until you

reach the end of the necklace.

9) When you reach to the end of the necklace reinforce the

picot. Repeat step 7 reinforce and tie off tail thread.

10) Add jump rings on either ends by using the chain nose and

flat nose pliers move hand back and forth until the two

halves open attach to design and close jump ring by

repeating the above direction add clasp to jump ring.

What are the strengths of your completed project

The strengths of my project is the thread tension.


How long did you take to make it

It took me about eight hours to make.

What could have been improved (outcome 4 , Ku 2)

The length could have been longer.

List the problems encountered in making the product and the solutions and adjustments you made to
your design. (outcome 4 , PA 1)

The problems I encountered I found this design to be very time consuming even though it is a
beautiful design.
