EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

During my internship with Muskurahat Foundation, I was actively involved in

community engagement initiatives aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged

children and families. My role included organizing and supporting outreach programs

centered on education, health, and social awareness, as well as contributing to

workshops and sessions designed to empower marginalized communities.

Additionally, I assisted in planning fundraising campaigns and resource mobilization

efforts, gaining valuable insights into the challenges faced by communities at the

grassroots level.

This experience enhanced my skills in communication, event coordination, and

teamwork, while also providing an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the

Foundation’s mission of creating a positive impact in society. My involvement helped

strengthen the organization’s community connections and drive measurable outcomes.

Beyond professional development, the internship fostered my empathy and sense of

responsibility, leaving me with a profound appreciation for the importance of

community development work.

CHAPTER : I INTRODUCTION

1. Background of the study

Team MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION is on a mission to end Global warming,

Illiteracy and Sexual Harassment Poverty. MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION is

determined to make sure that quality education reaches every child. It has started a

concept of skill classes for the primary level schools run by the government where they

teach the kids different skills and tell them about different career opportunities so that

even if a child discontinues the education or due to any circumstances have to drop-out

he/she atleast has a skill set and the proper exposure to work in the field of his/her

choice.

MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION PATHSHALA:- At MUSKURAHAT

FOUNDATION ,

we believe that education is a cornerstone of equality. Access to education changes lives

and multiplies opportunities. To that end, we value collaborative and innovative efforts

and fund initiatives that address root problems and offer inspiring solutions. These

organizations are moving mountains bringing basic access to essential learning and

developing programming that meets the needs of the community demographic.

Environment:- The time is now. Our planet is in trouble. MUSKURAHAT

FOUNDATION has cultivated a growing list of environmental advocates, in a variety

of sectors, who are working to protect and care for natural resources across the globe.

It is an uphill battle and partnering with these organizations brings us hope and a sense

of connection to both our planet and to the people and organizations who are working

diligently on its behalf.

Research on NGO with questionnaire:- I have prepared some questionnaire to

ask from the employee/owner of the MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION. I asked them

the same prepared questionnaire on phone call & prepared the assessment of the

interview in this paragraph

Case study:- I critically analysed the projects/program of the MUSKURAHAT

FOUNDATION. For this I met some of the volunteers and also to the beneficial of the

projects run by the MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION & then prepared a case study on

the peoples benefitted from the Projects of MUSKURAHAT FOUNDATION.

The Community Connect initiative of the Muskurahat Foundation appears to focus on

CHAPTER:II COMPANY PROFILE

1. Overview of the Organization : FOUNDATION MUSKURAHAT

While our country steadfastly regrows to its pre-colonial economic and social stature,

many Indians—unfairly so—remain underprivileged. Unfair societal barriers seriously

limit our society's holistic growth by overlooking an individual's merit; merit that

could've otherwise been used for the development of our country. At the Human Touch

Foundation, we have identified three major barriers and relentlessly work towards

resolving them. The three major barriers that we believe are prevalent in India are

inequality of work opportunity due to unfair prejudice, sexual harassment of women

in the workplace, and the discounting of environmental sustainability for short-term

economic gain. To promote equality of opportunity, and deter and punish instances of

sexual harassment, we have introduced our POSH Act initiative. The initiative, which

has been a tremendous success, helps Indian firms create a healthier work environment

by aiding them with the compliance of the POSH Law and providing them with

unbiased third-party counselling, inquiries & conciliations. In addition to this, to 11

promote environmental sustainability, our organization has planted more than 10,000

plants at various schools, offices, public places, and local jails. As the president of the

Muskurahat Foundation , on behalf of our family, I pledge to pursue and promote the

values that we stand for.

Ms. Nandini Vernekar

HUMAN TOUCH PATHSHALA: Through Muskurahat Foundation we are on

a mission to educate 100 kids who never knew how to read and write. We not only

teach them the basic curriculum but also the skill and exposure that is provided in every

public school. We are working hard in order to provide them with quality education.

Our first Literacy Program was inaugurated in Gautam Budha Nagar District Jail, in

August 2024. z

AVOID THE USE OF PLASTIC:- Plastic bags are thrown after use prove to be

a major environmental hazard. They pollute the soil and affect vegetative growth. They

lead to infertile soil .Every year a large no. of animals and sea creatures die due to the

consumption of plastic bags. The Environmental awareness program was hosted by the

All India Women's Conference and the Muskurahat Foundation . We shared practical

practices to avoid the use of plastics in Indian households

SKILL DEVELOPMENT CLASSES: We are associated with many

government-run schools where the number of kids is 200+. We aim to teach the kids

atleast one skill before they move on to the senior secondary. So that they can have

different career opportunities which they lack because of the financial irregularities.

Plantation Drive by Human Touch Foundation :-

With the ongoing deforestation and urbanization, we are losing these small ecosystems which

have adverse effects on the environment, the rising temperature, irregular rains, and polluted

air and water can be seen substantially. We at Muskurahat Foundation aim to reduce these

adverse effects by planting more trees and spreading awareness on water and air pollution. In

April 2014, we established our first organic garden housing 14 feet high tomato plants, in

Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. With this implausible sounding feat, our ultimate objective with

this initiative was to motivate fellow urbanites to build their own vegetable gardens; thereby

taking the city to a more nutritious, greener and cleaner route.

HEALTH CHECKUP CAMPS:- There is nothing which is more important than good

health .We believe society is an important part of our lives and therefore health is very

important for the growth of the people with our consistent efforts and deeds we want to improve

the condition of the people. By keeping in mind the importance of health, Muskurahat

Foundation conducts health awareness camps in the different areas.

2. History & Background

History of NGO: Muskurahat Foundation was founded in 2006 and registered in

2011, by a group of friends who were very enthusiastic on making a change in the

society closer to his goal, we work for the holistic betterment of the underprivileged.

VISION :-

The vision of the Muskurahat Foundation is world free of sexual assault ,domestic

violence, and child abuse.

Environment :- For the environment we believe that with the ongoing situation we

won't be able to make this world a sustainable one for the future generations. We

believe that if we can all come together and try to reverse the process in order to save

the environment it can make a change. The time is now. Our planet is in trouble.

MISSION :-

Our mission is to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence and

child abuse , support survivor’s healing , and end this violence forever. Primarily focus

on issues related to equality for opportunity , Sexual harassment, Education and

environmental conservation. While we understand that our vision may not be

achievable in our lifetimes, we firmly believe that violence and abuse are preventable.

In support of our vision and mission ,we have developed and adopted a set of values

and guiding principles that inform and inspire our approach to all that we do: Our

Values are the foundation of our organization and guide our thinking, actions,

decisions, responses, and priorities. Our Guiding Principles serve as a compass both

individually and organizationally. They are the application of our core beliefs that help

to shape and direct our work. We approach all we do and every decision we make with

Guiding principles in works.

How do they approach?

By local print media:- They approach people by local print media by advertising

in local news papers. They also use pamphlets for this. They distribute or stick

pamphlets in crowd market area or by sticking pamphlets in rural as well as urban areas

across greater Noida.

Word of mouth:- Most helpful and best way to approach people is from word of mouth.

Peoples who get benefitted by the NGO, they speak about the NGO to other peoples

who needed genuine help. They contact through those peoples to NGO.

What we have done?

We have visited to the NGO(Muskurahat Foundation ) each weekends(2 hours per

day) for two months, in which we conducted several activities and sessions including

food distribution, teaching, sessions on health and hygiene and education. We gone to

primary schools and rural areas across greater Noida for community service activity.

1st weekend:- We have visited Human Touch Foundation for community help. This

was the very first time for all us to do something for the community. On the first week

visit to NGO, we came up with the idea to distribute the food between the little stars.

After seeing their bright smile, we were overwhelmed with happiness. We went to

several places in greater Noida where All the co-workers supported us and finally food

had been distributed. Along with serving the food, we have also taught them "good

food habits". We sent each and every child for hand wash then we told them to dry up

their hands. Then we told them to thanks the god for giving the food. After eating food,

we told them to wash hands and rinse their mouths properly so that they never get

cavities. Every child was following the instructions and they were very pleased to learn

the good food habits. Therefore, I can say that our first day was very good. We enjoyed

every moment and every task gave us a heart full happiness. It also made me learn that

"Every day is created for doing something".

Our main motive behind food distribution were:

 Child should get nutritional value.

 Child should learn "good eating habit"

 Enable them to choose healthy food over the junk food.

 Make them to learn the source of food

2nd weekend:-

Oral health and hygiene sessionOn the second day, We have taught students about Oral

health and hygiene. We brought some of the pictures of decayed tooth and showed it to

every child. Then we asked them What can you see in this picture? Answer from them

was " We can see germs in the tooth". Our second question was - Do you know where

the germs come from ? Seeing that nobody could answer the question, we began with

our session. The germs have came to eat leftover food in your mouth. So, after eating

food we should properly rinse our mouth in order not to get any germs. If we will follow

up the below given points then we will never get cavities in our teeth.

 1)Oral health education is effective in improving the knowledge attitude and

 2)Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum

disease— and can help you keep your teeth as you get older.

 3)Having good oral hygiene also leads to better total body health and will help

you avoid problems like diabetes, heart disease or dementia.

3rd Weekend:-

Session on importance of Education

Education is one of the key components that bring growth and progress into society. The

more people in a society are educated, the more they can provide a beneficial contribution

to their environment. This fact increases the importance of education in society and has

resulted in governments investing in education more than ever before.

Keeping all this in mind, on our third visit to the NGO, we conducted a session on the

importance of education.

We first had a talk with all the children about their school and studies ,we asked them

that whether they go to school or not. We got to know that most of the students are not

school children and cannot afford school fees and very few of them attend schools .we

told them the alternatives for the same, as there are many government schools nearby

which provides education with affordable fees. We explained them the importance of

education in today's world and how education can change their life. They can achieve all

the things that they wish for by getting education. we also talked to their parents and

discussed the issue with them and provided them with guidance for their children

education.

We concluded the session by asking children that what they want to become and telling

them that the key for achieving their goals is education itself.

4th weekend:-

Teaching and food Distribution:

Teachers play an essential role in the life of their students during school days and even

after school in the practical world. So, let’s learn about the role of a teacher.Teachers

provide the power of education to today’s youth, thereby giving them the possibility for

a better future.

Teachers truly are the backbone of society. They are role models to children, offer

guidance and dedication and give young people the power of education. Because of

teachers, countries are able to further develop socially and economically.

To make sure that we also standby the same expectations we went to NGO and taught

basic things like week name, month name, body parts, colours name , fruits and

vegetables names we also taught them some vocabulary. After that we distributed foods

like samosa, fruits, biscuits and bananas.

They all were very excited when we gave them food and their smiling faces made us

5th weekend:-

Plantation-This weekend we were given task of planting trees across some areas in

Greater Noida. Trees play a critical role for people and the planet. Numerous studies have

demonstrated that the presence of trees and urban nature can improve people's mental and

physical health, children's attention and test scores, the property values in a

neighbourhood, and beyond. Trees cool our urban centres. Trees are essential for healthy

communities and people. The benefits that trees provide can help cities and countries meet

15 of the 17 internationally supported United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This critical review provides a comprehensive argument that trees should be considered

an important part of the equation by project managers and civic leaders as we collectively

work toward reaching these sustainability goals. We were very excited for this task as it

was for us and our future generations. And planting of trees are very important for the

Delhi NCR areas as pollution is a problem in NCR. So we planted trees across city in

different urban and rural areas. It was very good experience throughout the weekend.

6th Weekend:

Hopscotch activity-On the fifth and the last visit to the NGO we, conducted a

hopscotch ( hands and feet ) activity. To play the Hopscotch Hands and Feet Game we

simply took the printouts of hands and feet outline. Each row of hopscotch had combination

of 3 landing spaces. The landing space combination was of 2 feet with 1 hand or 2 hands

with 1 foot in alternative rows, with 8 rows. Then we laid out the sheets of hopscotch with

hands and feet, taped them to the floor and ask the students to start the game. Students

gathered around the area ,then we made them understand the rules of the game:-

The player must be able to land their hand or feet on the corresponding hand and feet

pattern on the floor and make it all the way to the end row without missing a skip. If they

land their hand or feet on the wrong hopscotch pattern, they are out and can try again later

after everyone has taken their turn playing the game.

After understanding the rules, students started the game, some of the students played really

well while some got out in the middle but all over the activity was really fun. The students

got totally engaged in the activity and enjoyed a lot. This activity does not only provide

enjoyment to students but it also has many benefits like:-

 Hopscotch also helps children to manage body rhythm, which is the core of

numerous other skills.

CHAPTER VI : CONCLUSION

Non-governmental organization (NGO) is a group that functions independently of any

government. It is usually non-profit. NGOs ,sometimes called civil society organizations, are

established on community, national, and international levels to serve a social or political goal

such as a humanitarian cause or the protection of the environment .For example, NGOs might

focus on activities in areas involving health or health emergencies, education, infrastructure,

advocacy of minority rights ,support of the poor, and the reduction of crime.

In fact, an NGO provides a mechanism that could possibly work where the government

has failed. As a result, it supports grass roots initiatives as well as recognizing and

responding to the realities of the local people. Next, cheaper to implement. Since NGOs

are actual nonprofit organizations, various projects can be achieved without having to use

the government’s money. This is because there are many private donors who support the

NGOs and this means that there will never be a lack of resources. Additionally, NGOs

provide a good alternative to creating mass access structures. These mass access structures

are extremely cumbersome, unreliable and costly. Another major advantage of NGOs is

that they have the capability of communicating at all levels. This means that they can

easily interact with the local people and relay their messages to top levels of the

government. They are also capable of recruiting highly motivated staff and experts with

lesser restrictions than employees working for the government. NGOs are flexible in

becoming accustomed to local conditions and responding to the local needs. For that

reason, they can experiment freely with new approaches and take risks if necessary. They

can develop integrated projects to help the local people. The major shortcoming of NGOs

is the overdependence on private financial resources, especially when the donors fail to

make their donations. Today, giving back to society is seen as one of the important duties

of every man and woman. India has the world’s largest number of active not-for-profit

NGOs – 31 lakh, which means one NGO for less than 400 Indians. "Through our
