=k+k
2k = Perimeter of ∆ABC

33. Let the speed of car that starts from A be x km/hr and the speed of the car that starts
from B be y km/hr
Case (i)
After 8 hours, distance covered by Car A is 8x and distance covered by Car B is 8y.
ATQ,
8x ⎼ 8y = 80
x ⎼y = 10 (1 ½ mark)
Case (ii)
After 1 hour 20 minutes, ie 4 /3 hours distance covered by Car A is 4x/3 and distance covered
by Car B is 4y/3
ATQ,
4x/3 + 4y/3 = 80
x+y=60 (1 ½ mark)
On solving equations (i) and (ii) we get x = 35 and y = 25 ( 1 ½ marks)
Thus, speed of Car A = 35 km/hr and speed of Car B = 25 km/hr ( ½ mark )

Let CP of one chair be Rs. x and CP of one table be Rs. y (1/2 mark)
Case (i)
Profit on a chair = 25%
