[1] Describe the input-output relationship of a discrete-time (DT) linear time-invariant (LTI) system.
Assume the input 𝑥𝑥[𝑛𝑛] and the output 𝑦𝑦[𝑛𝑛], the impulse response ℎ[𝑛𝑛].
(a) In the form of difference equation.
(b) In the form of convolution sum.

[2] State the conditions for “zero-state” in the following DT LTI system as:

(c) Obtain the output 𝑦𝑦3 [𝑛𝑛] to the input 𝑥𝑥3 [𝑛𝑛] = 0.5𝑥𝑥1 [𝑛𝑛] − 𝑥𝑥2 [𝑛𝑛], by using the superposition
principle.
(d) Obtain the output 𝑦𝑦3 [𝑛𝑛] to the input 𝑥𝑥3 [𝑛𝑛] = 0.5𝑥𝑥1 [𝑛𝑛] − 𝑥𝑥2 [𝑛𝑛], by computing the
convolution sum analytically.

[11] Given two DT sequences such as 𝑥𝑥[𝑛𝑛] = 𝑎𝑎𝑛𝑛 𝑢𝑢[𝑛𝑛] and ℎ[𝑛𝑛] = [1 − 𝑏𝑏 𝑛𝑛 ]𝑢𝑢[𝑛𝑛] , compute the
convolution sum analytically.

[12] Given two DT sequences such as ℎ[𝑛𝑛] and 𝑥𝑥[𝑛𝑛], compute the convolution sum graphically.

integral analytically.

(b) Plot 𝑥𝑥(𝑡𝑡), 𝑥𝑥1 (𝑡𝑡) = 1 cos(2𝜋𝜋𝜋𝜋 − 𝜋𝜋/2), and 𝑥𝑥2 (𝑡𝑡) = 1 cos(2𝜋𝜋𝜋𝜋 + 𝜋𝜋/2) on the same graph.
(c) Plot 𝑥𝑥(𝑡𝑡), 𝑥𝑥1 (𝑡𝑡) = 1 cos(4𝜋𝜋𝜋𝜋), and 𝑥𝑥2 (𝑡𝑡) = 1 cos(𝜋𝜋𝜋𝜋) on the same graph.

[18] Plot a signal consisting of two sinusoids with two different angular rotating speeds such as 𝜔𝜔1 =
