Subject: English language Exam Teacher: Fadia Shibly
Date: / 2 / 2017 Duration: 2 hours
Part One : Reading (score 24/40)
Read the following article that states many
fundamental tips for a healthy life.
1. Always eat breakfast. Skipping breakfast is a bad habit. When
you get up in the morning, your body doesn’t have enough fuel
to properly start your day. It is extremely important that you
get a breakfast filled with protein, carbohydrates and healthy
fats. Not only does it jump- start your metabolism, but it also
gives you the energy that you need to get through the day.
2. Actually eating breakfast may be a good way for losing weight.
People who eat breakfast are more likely to maintain a healthy
weight. Some experts believe that eating breakfast keeps your
metabolism running because skipping meals causes the body to
kick into “starvation” mode. Breakfast should include protein
and plenty of fibers; the combination will help fulfill your
hunger and will keep you feeling full until lunch time.
3. Go vegetarian a few times a week at least. Vegetarian meals are
extremely healthy for any age group. These dishes taste
delightful; have less fat and are rich in nutrients.
4. Know your carbohydrates. Many people believe that all
carbohydrates are bad for you. This is completely untrue.
Complex carbohydrates are actually essential for your brain and
body to successfully function. Understanding the differences
can help you learn which choices to make next time when you
are at the grocery store.
5. Choose your fat intake wisely. While some fats are extremely
important for the body to have, others can quickly turn your
health into downward spiral. Eating healthier fats, such as
those found in many fish, are great for your body. Try to avoid
eating overly processed fats, such as those in margarine or
salad dressings; they may lead to heart diseases and overweight
problems.
6. Make sure your healthy eating diet includes adequate amounts
of vitamin D and calcium. These two nutrients work together to
prevent you from losing bone mass as you age, which is a real
problem for many women. Drink plenty of milk and go out into
the sun for at least ten minutes a day.
7. Physical activity is also vital for your health. You should get at
least 20 minutes of physical activity every day. Eating healthy
does not mean following super-restrictive diet. But you have to
watch what you put into your mouth.
