Founded in 1978 in San Diego, CA by a single patient named


Angelica Thierot, Planetree International is a not-for-profit
organization with more than 700 partners operating in 25
countries committed to a model of person-centered care for all.

Wellness Committee: All staff are eligible to participate in


monthly contests with awardees selected each month per region.

Planetree Recognition Programs: All staff are eligible to


nominate and be nominated to receive a variety of recognition
awards for their spirit, community spirit, leadership, and
innovation.

Care Team: Provides support for staff experiencing urgent


situations. The Care Team reviews requests from staff directly
through the care team listserv. This is open to all non-
probationary staff.

“Thatsagoodidea” Listserv: All staff can submit ideas to


improve workflow, patient or staff safety, efficiency or patient
experience directly. If your innovation is selected, you are
eligible to win $100 for your idea.

Cultural Competence Committee: A group of Sun River Health


leadership, staff, and patients who review a variety of
organizational data to ensure we are caring for all with equity.
This Committee also plans activities and develops or revises
policies and programs in response to the data uncovered. An
annual Cultural Competence Report is published and made
available to all staff and consumers.

LGBTQIA+ Committee: A sub-committee of the Cultural


Competence Committee that meets quarterly to review
organizational policies, programs, and data to ensure equitable
outcomes, experience and satisfaction for LGBTQIA+ staff and
patients. This Committee also plans Pride events and
celebrations. Participation is open to all staff!
