SOURCE CAPTURE
DUST COLLECTION SYSTEM
Source capture collects dust or
fumes at the spot where they are
A

Fume Arm being generated. It is useful in

situations where the material needs
to be controlled right at the source.
Forms of source capture include
fume arms, hoods, spot collectors, or

prevents dust or fumes from

Grind/Blast Booth
escaping into the rest of the facility.
It is efficient in situations where the
dust or fumes are going to be
generated in one place and can be
captured at that place. Source
capture is sometimes necessary to
prevent workers from being exposed
to hazardous levels of materials.

Applications where source capture is

Robot Work Cell
used include metalworking or
welding, woodworking, saws,
grinders and sanders, where a fume
arm or hood might pull fumes away
Spark Trap from a welding station or a Clean Air
downdraft table might control Diffuser
plasma cutting fumes. Robotic
welders often have a hood over their

Explosion Isolation Valve stations. Source capture can also be

(EIV) used for applications like grain and
silica, with spot collectors handling
dust at places where the material is
being mixed, poured, or loaded.

AMBIENT AIR
DUST COLLECTI ON SYSTEM
One of the biggest advantages
with an ambient system that
recirculates the air back into
the facility is energy cost
savings. When heated or
air-conditioned air is vented
outside, the energy used is lost.
Many businesses find that a
fume collection system can pay
for itself within two years with
money saved in energy costs. Press
Returning filtered air into the
building also prevents the
development of negative air
pressure inside.

An ambient system constantly

Weld/Work Tables
changes the air inside the
facility. Overall levels of fumes
are lower, regardless of where
you’re working. The ambient
system does not require any
effort or inconvenience from the
welders; it works all the time
without anyone doing anything.

PUSH - PULL MODULAR SYSTEM
D UST COLLECTION SYSTEM

The CMAXX is a modular dust and fume

collector that can be sized for any
application. What you may not know is
that the CMAXX is also a modular
ambient system. With two CMAXX
collectors, one pulling air from inside the
facility and the other pushing air in as a
“push-pull” system, continuous ambient
airflow is achieved. What happens,
though, if you have multiple areas where
you need dust and fume collection, or if
you add onto your facility or equipment?
With other types of systems, you would
need to get rid of your current collector
Press
and buy a bigger one to handle increased
airflow, then run lengths of ductwork to
cover the whole space. With a modular
CMAXX system, it’s easy to add another
set of “push-pull” CMAXX collectors to CM006
create more ambient dust and fume
collection. Since the system is modular,
your original CMAXX system can stay in
place while new units are added on to
meet your changing needs. Spark Trap

Any company can have changes in their

facility, whether it’s moving things
around the shop, expanding, or increased
dust or fume production. Instead of
buying a whole new dust and fume
collector or installing a lot of new
ductwork to handle your changing needs,
Weld/Work Tables
consider the option of the CMAXX
modular system: always ready for you to
add on or adapt to your changing needs.
PROFESSIONAL
SYSTEMS
INSTALLATION
At Imperial Systems we not only create the
most heavy duty and best dust collectors
in the industry, but we also design, build
and install your specific complete system.

Our team will work from the ground up

with your company to design and build the
best solution for you. It starts at the design
process with our in house engineers to
design the system according to your
specifications. Once the drawing have been
approved we will being building your
custom dust collector, adapters and
accessories in house to the highest specs
in the industry.

Our installation crew is experienced with

all types of dust collectors in every
industry. Imperial Systems has worked on
dust collection applications from weld
fume to grain storage.

Our team is able to fabricate and improvise

on site to make sure everything fits and
works correctly for your needs.
