Sir/ Madam
I would like to bring to your notice that most of the teenagers violate traffic rules. They want to
derive a thrill from high speed driving.
They do not realise that in their craze for speed, they endanger their own lives as well as the lives
of others. Some of the teenagers use their cell phones while driving. This often results in fatal
accidents.
I would like to suggest that listening to cell phone while driving should be made a punishable
offence. Moreover, CCTV cameras shall be installed at all busy points. The offenders should be
immediately punished. If we take these preventive measures we can check rash and reckless
driving.
Thanking you
Yours truly

Historical Places—Neglected
-- Sunil, Staff Reporter
I visited some famous historical places near Qutub Minar and was pained to see these heritage
sites getting badly neglected. It appeared that absolutely no attention was being given to the
upkeep of these places. An old temple built by some king of eleventh century was lying in ruins.
The green cover had depleted. Precious flora and fauna round it was completely destroyed.
Immediate steps need to be taken to ameliorate the condition of these historical places. Since
they are the sites which remind us of our past, they must be preserved carefully.

Article Writing
You are Meeta. Write an article on the topic ‘Importance of Trees’.
IMPORTANCE OF TREES
--Meeta
Trees are essential for our existence on the earth for they provide oxygen to us. Without oxygen
we will feel suffocation and die. Trees assume importance particularly when our population is
increasing at a rapid speed and industrialisation is growing for economic progress.
Trees are useful in many ways. They maintain natural ecosystems. They provide greenery, prevent
soil erosion and help maintain temperature. They keep our environment clean and healthy. Trees,
in fact, are our life-line. So it is not only a crime but sin to fell trees. Several selfish persons cut
trees for timber. They should be punished. They do not know how much harm they cause by
felling trees. Felling of trees creates a lot of land, but it adds to air pollution. Air pollution is
responsible for the spread of various diseases like allergies, breathing problems and cancers. In
spite of the ban on felling of trees in the forests, greedy persons in connivance with forest officials
indiscriminately fell trees to make money.
This is unlawful and strict action should be taken against the corrupt officials and the criminals. It
is because of the air pollution that oxygen clinics have come up in the big cities. If the situation
deteriorates further people will have to carry their own 'air purifiers' with them. But not many will
afford them. So felling of trees must be stopped.
