Activity Description
I. Rationale Month of November is considered as
National Reading Month and at the same
time the Celebration of the English
Month. These initiatives focus on
enhancing reading and writing skills,
integrating new skills in literacy,
improving learners’ vocabulary and
knowledge on English language, and
promoting a culture of reading among
learners.
This year’s theme: “English as a
Global Language: Bridging Cultures,
Connecting the World” aims to cultivate
a deeper appreciation for the role of
English in promoting cultural change,
enhancing communication, and fostering
global connections. Through this
celebration, we will highlight how English
enables the exchange of ideas,
traditions, and values, promoting mutual
respect and appreciation among different
cultures and how the learners and or
participants contribute to positive
change through effective
communication.
In this context, the Matatag
Elementary School seeks to involve
learners in various activities that will
showcase not only their talents and skills
but their passion and values as well in
learning the English language and
making this event an avenue for

II. Objectives  To instill a love for English and
encourage learners to participate
and showcase their skills and
talents in the different literary
contests.
 To stimulate critical thinking skills
and public speaking skills through
presentations and public speaking.
 To highlight the importance of
English in promoting culture
diversities and global connections.
 To embrace the significance of
English language and reading in
daily lives.
 To involve parents, teachers, and
stakeholders in the celebration.
