1. A man with advanced liver cancer who is 71 years old is the first
person in history to receive a liver donation from a genetically modified
pig. This is a huge step forward in medicine.Doctors at Anhui Medical
University’s First Affiliated Hospital in China did this historic treatment.
2. The World Health Organization (WHO) has given the Nelson Mandela
Award for Health Promotion for 2024 to the National Institute of Mental
Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) in Bengaluru.
3. With a clear victory in the recent polls, Claudia Sheinbaum has been
named Mexico’s first female president.
4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the National Program for Civil
Services Capacity Building, which aims to make India’s civil workers much
better at what they do. Mission Karmayogi aims to create a system that
is focused on the needs of citizens, ready for the future, and focused on
results by making all levels of government more efficient.
5. The most recent QS World University scores for 2025 show that Indian
universities have made big strides forward. 61% of those universities saw
their scores go up. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) is
now ranked 118th in the world, 31 spots higher than it was before. The
second and third places in India go to IIT Delhi and the Indian Institute of
Science, Bengaluru, which are very close behind.

Ethiopia were all publicly accepted as full members at the BRICS
Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.

15. India rank 129th with the score of 0.641 in Global Gender
Index 2024. This index is updated every year and looks at how
far 146 countries have come in achieving female equality. It
looks at four important areas: economic participation and
opportunity, educational attainment, health and survival, and
political empowerment.Iceland is in first place, with 93.5% of
the gender gap closed. Other European countries, like Finland
and Norway, are close behind.

presented with the “Risk Manager of the Year Award” by Central
Banking, a distinguished organization that is headquartered in
London, United Kingdom.

on June 18th, and it has the potential to make Thailand the first
country in Southeast Asia to permit marriages between people
of the same gender.
19. The World Economic Forum (WEF) just released the Global
Energy Transition Index on June 19, 2024. It shows that the
global energy transition scene has changed in big ways. After
falling to 67th place, India moved up to 63rd place out of 120
countries, which is a big jump. Sweden stayed at the top of the
Index, showing that it has been making steady progress in the
energy field.

26. The World Bank has agreed to lend India $1.5 billion to help it move
toward a low-carbon energy future. This strategic funding will help
create green hydrogen and electrolyzers and make it easier for the
country to use renewable energy.
27. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) just released a full Artificial
Intelligence Preparedness Index (AIPI) Dashboard. This tool will sort and
rank 174 countries around the world based on how ready they are to use
AI.
28. The 2023 PEN Pinter Prize was recently given to Indian author
Arundati Roy. The award was created in honor of the famous writer
Harold Pinter. The prize is given to writers with “outstanding literary
merit” who look at the world seriously and think about it. Roy was
thrilled to receive this coveted award. She is known for her literary skills
and critical engagement with global and Indian sociopolitical issues.
29. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) just released its most recent
Global Liveability Index, which once again names Vienna, Austria, as the
best place to live in the world. The 2024 index, which came out today,
rates towns around the world based on things like education, healthcare,
culture the environment, stability, and infrastructure.
30. In 2023, India achieved the highest record of remittance inflows
globally, amassing USD 125 billion. Strategic economic deals and strong
job markets in other countries, especially in the US, UK, and Singapore,
were the main things that caused this rise. One important mutual
agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) stood out. It made it
easier for the two countries to use their currencies in trade.
