LET’S BEGIN…
In the following pages you will find five tips you can use to improve your
mood and feel better immediately.
As someone who used to struggle with mental health issues, I had to learn
how the human mind works. When you pay more attention to your thoughts
and feelings, you have the ability to change them, and, in turn, change your
life.
Although learning to control your thoughts takes time, the five tips I am going
to share are super easy (especially the first one).
When it comes to doing something new, most people struggle with just
starting, so ideally you want to take action as soon as you finish reading this
guide.
Let’s begin…
1. DON’T LISTEN TO THE NEWS
Detach yourself from negativity. Avoid the noise. Focus on
what truly matters to you.
Almost all news you see online, or on TV, are designed to grab your attention.
What’s even worse is they usually do this by generating f ear.
If this seems like an exaggeration to you, try to analyze some of the news you
see online, or on TV. Pay attention to the titles and the images they use;
notice how your thoughts and emotions change as you see them.
Think: when you find out about the latest horrible event, does it help you —
or the world — in any way?
If you want to be happy, start ignoring the noise, and the fear mongering.
Don’t let them steal your precious time, your energy, and your mental health.
Don’t listen to the news unless 100% necessary, and focus on what truly
matters to y
ou. It will make your life so much better.
2. THINK OF THE FUTURE
No matter where you are in your life right now, the future is
waiting for you. And it’s incredibly exciting.
As you are reading this guide, you may be going through one of the best
times of your life, or one of the toughest.
Whatever your current situation is, there is one proven way to create instant
motivation: thinking of an e
xciting future.
Depending on your current circumstance, you may want to focus on, or plan,
the next month, or the next six months, or the next two years. It really
depends on w
hat you want to experience, and how long it takes you to get
there.
I don’t recommend planning anything five years or more from now, at least
not for the purpose of this guide. You want to think of an experience in the
near future — whatever that means to you — so your mind can still visualize
it, and perceive it as real.
Having a goal that’s too far ahead might actually have the opposite effect on
you: focusing on something that’s going to happen in ten years will probably
feel a little daunting.
It’s perfectly fine to dream big, but make sure you do plan in the s hort term
as well, and make sure it’s incredibly exciting.
3. CHOOSE WHO YOU ARE
Be the best version of yourself. Define your identity. Change
your self image.
Even if you are surrounded by people who believe in you, it’s important to
identify who you t ruly want to be.
Take some time and think of a definition that will create a powerful self
image. You may want to write this down, as it’s easy to forget. Here’s some
ideas to inspire you:
Chances are, you already know the importance of physical exercise, and the
effects it has on your mental health.
Countless studies have shown how moving your body increases happiness
and reduces stress. You could feel better r ight now just by standing up, and
walking for a couple minutes. It’s that simple.
My advice to you is: make it enjoyable, and make sure it’s not too
overwhelming. If you hate a particular kind of workout, you are never going to
do it, no matter what the health benefits are.
Working out at the gym isn’t for everyone, so you may want to consider
activities such as walking, cycling, Tai Chi, yoga, or dancing.
Everything we have done, and everything we have gone through so far, has
shaped our personality. So from today forward, be proud of who you are no
matter where you are in your life.
The same applies to the way you look, the way you think, the way you talk,
you name it.
Besides being terrible for your mental health, guilt also prevents you from
getting the life that you deserve.
As long as you focus on what you’ve done wrong, or what you don’t like
about yourself, you are telling your subconscious mind that you are not
worthy of all the things you desire (or used to desire).
Remember: whatever your issue is, there’s nothing wrong about you.
Please take some time right now and think of how you will implement some
of the tips I gave you. It’s important to take action immediately, otherwise you
may end up forgetting about this.
If you are able to turn these techniques into habits, I guarantee you will feel
happier, calmer, and more motivated than the vast majority of people.
Feel free to read this guide again, and as many times as you want.
Remember: improving your life is easy — you just need to know how.
