4 Biology 1. Find out about electron microscopes from resources in the


(Any two) school library or through the internet. Note it down. Act 5.5,
pg. 61.
2. Take four peeled potato halves and scoop each one out to
make potato cups. One of these potato cups should be made
from a boiled potato. Put each potato cup in a trough
containing water. Now, (a) Keep cup A empty (b) Put one
teaspoon sugar in cup B (c) Put one teaspoon salt in cup C
(d) Put one teaspoon sugar in the boiled potato cup D. Keep
these for two hours. Then observe the four potato cups and
answer the following: (i) Explain why water gathers in the
hollowed portion of B and C. (ii) Why is potato A necessary
for this experiment? (iii) Explain why water does not gather in
the hollowed-out portions of A and D.
3. Collect information about the different type of cell division
with diagram and note in NB.
5 Physics 1. Explain how velocity is used in everyday life with
(Any two) examples.
2. Make a project “Acceleration in everyday life”.
3. List out and write any 5 practical real-life examples of
force/ velocity in graph and explain.
6 Chemistry 1. Take a 100 ml beaker. • Fill half the beaker with water and
(Any two) mark the level of water. • Dissolve some salt/ sugar with the
help of a glass rod. • Observe any change in water level. •
What do you think has happened to the salt? • Where does it
disappear? • Does the level of water change? Act 1.1, pg. 1.
2. Collect the following articles— a pen, a book, a needle and
a piece of wooden stick. • Sketch the shape of the above
articles in your notebook by moving a pencil around them. •
Do all these have a definite shape, distinct boundaries and a
fixed volume? • What happens if they are hammered, pulled
or dropped? • Are these capable of diffusing into each other?
• Try compressing them by applying force. Are you able to
compress them? Act 1.9, pg4.
3. Take 5 ml of water in a test tube and keep it near a
window or under a fan. • Take 5 ml of water in an open china
dish and keep it near a window or under a fan. • Take 5 ml of
water in an open china dish and keep it inside a cupboard or
on a shelf in your class. • Record the room
temperature. • Record the time or days taken for the
evaporation process in the above cases. • Repeat the above
three steps of activity on a rainy day and record your
observations. • What do you infer about the effect of
temperature, surface area and wind velocity (speed) on

7 Social 1. Collect information about the longitudinal and latitudinal

philosophers, revolutionaries, social workers or medicine and
document their lives, writings and contribution towards their
field.
3. Make a PPT on how village Palampur is becoming more
developed.
4. Design a poster on the French Revolution asking people to
come and join it wholeheartedly.
8 IT 1. Develop an article on the famous IT personality Jan Koum
(Any three) and Brian Acton focusing on their achievements.
2. Design a PPT presentation on “Methods of
Communication”.
3. Prepare a writeup on “Communication barriers- focusing
on steps to overcome it”.
4. Design a poster depicting the confidence level that led to
the famous business venture- Ola/ Uber.
9 Banking 1. Design a catalogue about the various types of banking and
(Any three) their uses in India.
2. Write about the various functions of RBI.
3. Make a flow chart about the various relationships’ banks
have with their customers.
4. Design a PPT defining the Banking Sector, what are the
functions of Bank and also show the classification of Bank.
