Topic: Education systems in OECD member countries should prioritize vocational training

over traditional academic curriculum.

Pro
We should prioritize vocational training over traditional training because, firstly, it increases
income. There are so much people that go to academic universities, human resources.
according to http://society.people.com.cn the work with least human resources are
Salesperson, restaurant waiter, cashier, security guard, merchandise salesperson, cleaner,
housekeeper, lathe, and welder. Vocational training to these profession can increases income
since there so less of people who do then and the society needs a lot of them.
www.kanzhun.com states that a merchandise salesperson’s monthly salary is about 14,000.
Compared to that, a profession from an academic university is only 6,000 according to
https://www.statista.com. The skills that vocational training teaches guarantees the student a
job in the society in the future. But on the other hand, people from traditional academic
curriculum have a less good opportunity to get a job. That is because that the competition for
traditional academic curriculum is too high and too fierce. The impact of this is, people that go
to vocational training have a insure to go to society with a job that is high payed and more
opportunities of employment. Also, acknowledging that high school and college have lower
graduation rates, a job is not guaranteed neither is graduation. Why should we prioritize
vocational training? According to oecd.org, Boosting access to vocational training will be critical
to ensure more young people can meet increasing demands for skilled workers and adapt to
and benefit from the profound changes spurred by the green and digital transformations. OECD
stand for The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and this organization
is a combine of developed and developing countries. According to a report written by the
OECD, Global economy growth is projected to slow, remaining below trend in 2023-24, while
inflation moderates but remains above target. The economy of the OECD has been growing
slower than plan, mainly caused by inflation. To solve this problem, prioritizing vocational
training is the best and most fast and efficient way to solve the problem of economy. A article
called Revisiting the wage effects of vocational education and training (VET) over the life cycle:
The case of Thailand states that The results show, on average, that vocational educated
workers receive higher wages than those with general education, but it has no significant
differences by comparing to university graduates in science and engineering with the same
years of education. Additionally, the wage premiums associated to vocational education tend to
increase at older ages. The empirical evidence corroborates the crucial role of vocational
education in increasing long-term earnings and the number of technical-skilled workers in the
Thai labor market. This shows that vocational training can increase income and make the
economy better.

The second reason is that Everyone deserves a chance to make a living in the society. If we
prioritize vocational training, society will be more equal. The world now has the lack of
skilled workers to help and too much university graduates that could barely do anything.
Some people could of had a job, we should give everyone a chance to make living. Learning
and going to collages isn't the right choice for everyone, but in now days people prioritize
universities over going to vocational training. Learning is not suitable for all of us, the
people who fail universities should have got a chance to go to vocational training and make
a living in a different way. Education can change lots of things, it does not have to be
academic learning, vocational training is a better way to make a living. Education can
challenge the rules that perpetuate economic inequality in broader society. So it more
important that the access to education is available for everyone. The United Nations sent
out the Sustainable Development Goal plans in September 2015, the 1st and 10th goals are
no poverty and reducing inequality. If everyone could get a sustainable work, these two
goals could be met. Poverty is mostly caused by unemployment, vocational training lets
everyone get a work. The impact of this is that is the people that are unemployed can not
find a job, it is most likely that they will go through poverty. And the people that can not find
a job in the future will just add to it. We should let everyone get a job, it better for not just a
community but the economics of a country can depend on it. It is so important to change
poverty, to make people be able to get a job, and give another chance for the people that
failed to go to university. Prioritizing vocational training can change all of that.
