1. You have been approached to help start an anti-bullying club at school. What would an
on-campus, school club do to promote an anti-bullying environment?

The anti-bullying club supports the needs and rights of students with regard to their social and
mental health in regards to making the students feel safer, being their friends and being there
for them when they need it. By increasing awareness, students can better understand the
impact of bullying on their peers and the need for support.
3. What three resources would an anti-bullying club make available to students who were targets of
harassment?
An anti-bullying club would make three resources available to students who were targets of
harassment. They are as follows, Support, an anti-bullying club would support students who are
bullying victims. Education, an anti-bullying club would educate students on what bullying is, how
to recognize it, and how to report it. Empowerment, an anti-bullying club would empower
students who are victims of bullying by giving them the tools they need to stand up for
themselves.
4. During an anti-bullying club meeting after school, Lin shared that while she was on a social media
page, another student from school used instant messaging to ask Lin for her address and phone
number. Lin says that she knows of this student, but they are not friends. Because Lin has
experienced harassment from peers at school over the last month, she is not sure whether the
request is friendly.
b. How should the anti-bullying club advise Lin about handling the situation?
I would advise Lin to tell a trusted adult ASAP and wait for instructions on how to handle it or tell
them no and carry on with your day. Whichever makes them feel the safest.
If you use the methods given, you can keep yourself safe online and at home. For example, ignore
the messages that ask for anything personal and make sure to tell a trusted adult.
5. During an anti-bullying club meeting after school, a student mentions that a new student has joined
your class at school. The individual wears clothes that are not very common at your school and
are religious in nature. Some of the other students have been talking negatively about the new
student.
The club should advise students to respond to this situation by promoting empathy,
understanding, and acceptance. They can encourage students to educate themselves about
different cultures and religions, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
Additionally, they can emphasize the importance of standing up against bullying, speaking out
against negative talk or behavior, and supporting the new student in feeling accepted and valued.
