1. Discuss the art emerging Europe.
- Art has been integral part in Europe, the ancient civilization like Greeks and Romans.
The art has been used to communicate ideologies and belief systems. Art and
architecture intended to promote the possibility of having an objective and widely
accepted standards for beauty.

2. What are the different types of art that emerged in Europe?


- The different types of art that emerged in Europe are, Classical, Byzantine,
Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical, Modern,
Postmodern and New European Painting.

3. Discuss the relevance of art during the ancient time in Europe.


- The ancient Greeks viewed art very differently than how we would view it today.
They created art to memorialize a hero, a god or goddess, or to celebrate a
community. Instead of buying art to beautify a home, the Greeks wanted to
celebrate their communities. They created art as part of civic duty.

1. Why did Athena killed Laocoon and his two sons?
- Laocoon, a Trojan priest, and his sons being strangled by serpents. Their position
was a result of locoon’s because he felt that the wooden horse offered by the
Greeks as a gift to Athena was a trick. Poseidon, the Greek God of the sea was
enlarged by such action which led him to send serpents to strangle Laocoon and his
sons.

2. Who are the Poseidon and Medusa? How are they related to each other?
- Medusa prayed to Athena for guidance and forgiveness. After all, in those days, the
gods claimed their mates as their partner forever, and Medusa was now Poseidon's
wife. Athena looked down in anger and cursed Medusa for betraying her. Medusa
was sent to a faraway island and was cursed so that no man would want her.
