1. I’ve been learning English for 8 years.

2. I find it a bit difficult to understand grammar/learn new words.

3. English is the most popular foreign language. It is an international language. People use it
in many places and situations. For example, it is used in international business. Many
companies need employees who can speak, read and write in English very well. If you have
these skills, you will have better opportunities to get a good job. Also, lots of electronic
devices use English, especially computers and the Internet. On the Internet a lot of
information that you find is written in English. In addition, when you go on a holiday to
another country, it helps a lot, if you can speak English. If you need information, you can ask
local people, most probably they will understand you.

4. Besides English, German and French are popular languages.

5. It’s important to speak a foreign language because you can make yourself understood when
you are abroad, and you can also communicate with foreigners in Hungary. You will probably
have better job opportunities too.

6. There are some effective and fun ways to improve your English. The best way is to have
some English-speaking friends you can hang out with or chat with. You can also watch
English movies or TV shows. By watching English films, you can improve your listening
skills and expand your vocabulary/learn new words. I always try to choose movies that I
enjoy and that I am familiar with. So, I know the basic story and I can concentrate on the
language more. Listening to songs in English can be a very good method too, especially if you
follow the lyrics to the songs. This way you can practise listening and reading at the same
time. You can listen to English podcasts or radio too. It’s also helpful if you read an English
book, newspaper or magazine, but you can also read news on the Internet to learn what has
happened lately. Last but not least, taking an English course can improve your English too.

7. During the English lessons we do reading and listening exercises, talk about different
topics, write formal and informal emails or posts and sometimes play games.

8. I think English is essential, so I will probably use it in my everyday life, for my job, or
when I travel abroad.
9. There are applications like duolingo or Xeropan for learning English and different
websites (e.g. 5percangol, lyricstraining.com), but my favourite is watching series with
subtitles.
