Introduction
5G Applications represent opportunities for consumers, homes, businesses,
and communities. Delivering enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), ultra-reliable
low latency communications (URLLC), and massive Machine type
communications (mMTC). 5G will help reduce inequality by increasing access and
lowering the cost of essential services such as healthcare and education services. 5G
will help to reduce carbon footprint and conserve natural resources. 5G Technology
is probably one of the most awaited technology changes we are expecting because of
the numerous benefits associated with the introduction of this technology. 5G
technology is expected to fuel a lot of future industries covering nearly every
industry from Education to Transportation, Entertainment to Healthcare, and
much more.

5G technology is built on three main pillars: enhanced Mobile broadband

that will provide mobile network customers and industrial users with enhanced
capacities, benefiting B2C, entertainment and media, and various other sectors.
Ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLC) will support new use
cases in mission-critical applications like autonomous driving, remote surgical
operation, industrial automation, etc. Massive machine-type communications
(mMTC) will enable industry players to connect massive numbers of devices with
specific connectivity requirements in sectors such as manufacturing, utilities, and
logistics. Network operators have a central role in 5G deployment as they will run
the 5G networks. Equipment vendors develop 5G technologies, define and
introduce 5G products (RAN, core network, services, handsets). Spectrum
harmonization between national regulatory authorities would support 5G
development and the spread of 5G applications as harmonization enables economies
of scale and facilitates cross-border coordination and roaming for end-users.

uRLLC - High Availability, low latency use cases for 5G

uRLLC will be one of the biggest game-changers once 5G is fully deployed.

Autonomous vehicles
Autonomous vehicles are one of the most anticipated 5G applications.
Vehicle technology is advancing fastly to support the future of autonomous vehicles
technology. 5G networks will be an enormous enabler for autonomous vehicles due
to the dramatically reduced latency, as vehicles will be able to respond 10-100 times
faster than over LTE technologies.

5G IoT in Smart City Infrastructure and Traffic management

Many cities around the world are deploying intelligent transportation
systems (ITS) and are planning to support connected vehicle technology.
Connected vehicle technology will enable bidirectional communications from
vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure to promote safety across
transportation systems. Smart cities are now installing sensors in every intersection
to detect movement and cause connected and autonomous vehicles to react as
needed.

5G IoT Applications in Industrial Automation

The main benefits of 5G technology in the field of Industry Automation
space are wireless flexibility, reduced costs, and the viability of the applications
which are not possible with the current technology. Industrial Automation is in
great use today, which could be seen in the form of robotics at work in factories and
supply chain applications. With Industry 4.0, humans and robots will be able to
interact and work together.

Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

The low latency of 5G will make AR (Augmented Reality) and VR( Virtual
Reality) applications both immersive and far more interactive in nature. Sporting
events and experiences will be at the top of the 5G applications in the consumer
space. More interactive experience with Augmented Reality is in sports arenas.

Faster Internet Speeds

5G Technology will surely revolutionize the current cellular networks and it

will provide nearly 10 to 20 GBPS of download speed every second. The 5G
Cellular Network is quite similar to the current existing Fiber Internet but the only
difference is that 5G Technology is a wireless technology whereas Fibre Network
relies on wires for the transfer of data and information. 5G Network will help you

make calls and share files using the superfast speed simultaneously when compared
to the current existing 4G Cellular Technologies. One of the most important
features of the 5G technology is the Low Latency this technology has to offer to its
users. It is important because it will be the base for the technologies of the future
such as Driverless Cars and Critical Missions Applications.

Entertainment and Multimedia

Researchers and analysts have found that out of the total internet traffic,
nearly 55% of it was used only to either watch or download videos in the year 2015.
This trend is expected to grow even further in the upcoming years and streaming 4K
Videos will be a common trend in the future.
Streaming of this high quality 4K years will take seconds and our virtual world
which we experience on our smart devices will be of much better quality.

Internet of Things: Will Connect Nearly Everything

The Internet of Things is considered to be one of the other important areas
which is expected to get a major boost with the 5G Technology. The Internet of
Things will be connecting nearly every device we use in our day to day lives in the
future. Our devices, applications, sensors will be connected to each other using the
Internet and will be in sync with each other.

Smart Cities
Our dream of making Smart Cities will not only be a dream in the future
with the 5G Technology as we will be able to control some major applications of
these cities like Traffic Management, Local Area Broadcasting, Instant updates of
weather, smart lighting of the streets, managing the water resources, responding to
any emergencies and managing the crowds.

Smart Farming
Our farmers will also benefit a lot because of the introduction of 5G
technology because farmers will be able to use the GPS Technology to track the
location of their livestocks and they will be able to manage them easily. They will
also be able to use smart sensors and will be able to control irrigation and will be
able to manage their energy expenditures much more efficiently.

5G IoT Applications for Drones

Drones have a vast and growing set of use cases. Logistics and retail
companies are using drones for the delivery of goods. 5G will also extend the reach
of controllers beyond a few kilometers or miles.

5G applications will give a major boost across a range of industries and use cases.
