TASK 2 Give reasons

There are many ways of determining the size of each angle. Only one method is shown.

1 DEB = EBC (alternate angles in parallel lines)

∴ DEB = 127°

2 ABE + CBE = 180° (adjacent supplementary angles)

ABE + 127° = 180°
∴ ABE = 53°

BEF = ABE (alternate angles in parallel lines)

∴ BEF = 53°

5.1 Calculating angles

TASK 2 Give reasons (cont’d)

3 BDE + ABD = 180° (co-interior angles in parallel lines)

BDE + 48° = 180°
∴ BDE = 132°

BDC = ABD (alternate angles in parallel lines)

∴BDC = 48°

DBC + BCD + BDC = 180° (angle sum of triangle BDC)

DBC + 82° + 48° = 180°
∴DBC = 50°
