I am writing to express my keen interest in the PhD position available at your institution
Food Analytical Chemistry and Technology (FACT) Lab in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty
of Science at Carleton University. As Fyodor Dostoyevsky has said “The mystery of human
existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for” so I decided for
PhD. With my educational background, research expertise, and unwavering passion for this
particular field, I possess the confidence to make substantial contributions to ongoing projects
and drive significant advancements in this area of study. I was up to the mark and honored in the
top 10’s list of 200 students in my master’s (Mphil.) class, I successfully completed my MPhil in
Chemistry with a CGPA of 3.79 out of 4.00 with 80.67% at the University of Agriculture,
Faisalabad, Pakistan. Where my primary focus was on the Evaluation and Characterization of
Bioactive Component in known plants. Through my MPhil journey, I acquired comprehensive
knowledge and proficiency in Analytical Chemistry, Mass Spectrometer, Antioxidants, Nano
Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, and various spectroscopic techniques that align closely with the
research endeavors carried out at your institution. Throughout my studies, I collaborated
extensively with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists and pharmacologists, to assess the
biological properties of treated plant material. These collaborative experiences further honed my
ability to thrive in a team-oriented research environment. At present, I am working as Assistant
Director, Department of Explosives, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) since June,
2019; my job’s major responsibilities include; to ensure the safety of public and property by
enforcing petroleum and explosives act and rules, here I have learned research and practical
implementation of analytical techniques along with the extensive knowledge of chemicals and
petroleum products.
I completed the Master of Sciences (MSc) in Chemistry from University of Agriculture
Faisalabad, Pakistan in September 2016, with a CGPA of 3.65 out of 4.00 with 76.73% . I was
an active somehow indulgent student among others during my Master of sciences studies, very
often involved in many Curricular and co-curricular activities. In my Master of science in
chemistry, I studied different areas like Chemistry, math, biochemistry, physics, biology and
statics etc. and I have done my final year technical report project on “Biomass Pretreatment and
Processing By Deep Eutectic solvent”.
I have a strong interest in investigating and enhancing the quality as well as quantity of
medicinal plant nutrient availability in eco-friendly forms and natural products which is a
valuable source for novel therapeutic agents, given their distinctive structural characteristics and
wide range of biological activities. The prospect of collaborating with esteemed researchers
greatly excites me. Furthermore, I am eager to contribute my expertise in Analytical Chemistry,
Phyto-chemistry, Nano chemistry, and natural products characterization, as well as my passion
for innovative research, to further the research initiatives undertaken by your institution. Based
on my soli academic background, research experience, and enthusiasm, I firmly believe that I am
excellent candidate for the PhD position. I am confident that my skills, combine with the
