TOPICS COVERED
Considering the course is of 45-60 days of duration. So, for acquiring
the skill of electric vehicle design and getting placed in this domain,
one should have knowledge or taste of electronics, mechanical as well
as electrical engineering concepts, toolkits and softwares for better
work efficiency.
In order to pace up with the above entities, I have broadly divided the
course into three modules namely:

THEME OF THE INTERNSHIP:

DESIGNING AND DEVELOPING A CHARGER

FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES DEVELOPED BY
ABB ORGANIZATION

i. Electronics Engineering concepts in EV industry

ii. Mechanical Engineering concepts in EV industry
iii. Electrical Engineering concepts in EV industry
ELECTRONICS

This module will cover the following concepts:
i. Analog and Digital Electronics fundamentals
ii. Battery technology
iii. Embedded System Design; MATLAB; Various Communication
Protocols including protocols like OCPP

Softwares taught in this module will be:

i. COSMOL Multiphysics for battery technology
ii. Altium for PCB Design, Pspice as a circuit simulator
iii. CANalyzer for analyzing the functionality of communication
protocols
Mechanical Module +
Automobile Module
This module will cover the following concepts:
i. Vehicle dynamics, Powertrain
ii. Thermal management and Aerodynamics
iii. Energy recovery system
iv. Model based deign
v. Sensing and actuation technologies
vi. Testing and validation

Softwares taught in this module will be:

i. MotorCAD: Powertrain
ii. Solidworks
iii. ANSYS Fluent for Aerodynamics
Electrical Module

This module will cover the following concepts:

i. High Voltage system and safety
ii. Power electronics
iii. Grid and charging infrastructure

Softwares taught in this module will be:

i. ANSYS Simplorer for Power Electronics
ii. LABView for Grid charging and infrastructure
Assignments and
Materials provided:

➢ Assignments:

i. Problems and numericals can be given while teaching the

topics of analog and digital electronics.
ii. Then, PCB designing in Altium software can be given.
iii. Studying aerodynamics in ANSYS fluent via a CAD model
of Mahindra E2O ev.
iv. Designing and analyzing motor of a compact city car using
motorCAD software.

➢ Industrial Projects after internship completion:

i. Designing an electric vehicle charger by taking help of an

open source project developed by ABB organization using
OCCP protocol.
ii. Developing a current monitoring system with the
objective to measure and display the current drawn by a
simulated EV motor.
➢ Study materials to be provided to students:

i. In case of analog and digital electronics, study materials

can be designed with the help of geeks for geeks website/
person proficient in core electronics.
ii. Material related to embedded systems can be provided
with the youtube links for revision of topics/ or digital
handbooks can be provided for the microcontrollers and
pcb design.
iii. MATLAB study material can be provided by the
Mathworks website itself, which is open-source.
iv. Thermal management systems and aerodynamics study
material can be developed by the science-direct website
or the fundamentals provided on ANSYS website as well.
v. ANSYS Simplorer material can be found on the official
ANSYS website.
vi. For studying powertrain, resources can be delivered from
the website howcarworks.com
vii. Power electronics is easily available on various websites
and youtube channels
viii. For studying and giving content for grid and charging
infrastructure we can refer to mathworks.com
What Type of people
should teach and
which companies
should hire?

➢ Types of teachers:

i. For teaching electronics module faculties can be hired

from:
• Professors of private colleges teaching electronics.
• Faculties working in Indian Institute of Embedded
Systems.
• Professional executives working in core electronics
or consumer electronics companies like Philips,
Bosch, HP, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Tata
electronics, Mahindra motors, Hero electric, etc.

ii. For teaching mechanical module:

• People can be hired from Kirloskar, aviation related
startups, defense equipment related startups.
• People working in renualt, vw, volvo, hero motor
corp can be hired.
iii. For teaching electrical module:
• People can be hired from electrical engineers
working at private energy power plants like adani
power, tata power, british petroleum energy, etc.

➢ Types of companies which should hire:

i. Hero Vida Electric

ii. Tigris Mobility
iii. Tata Power
iv. Exide
v. Amaron
vi. Amar Raja Batteries
vii. Hyundai
viii. Okinawa
ix. Komaki
x. E pluto
xi. Revolt
xii. LG Energy solutions
xiii. Greaves electric mobility
xiv. OLA gigafactory
xv. TATA motors
xvi. Mahindra
xvii. Morris Garages
➢ How can we engage with companies to hire

1. To engage with such companies, we can make a tie-up

contract with the placement providing agencies like
cranesvarsity, Bangalore.
2. We can contact the hr department of companies which
provide graduate student program and can do a tie up
with them.
3. The faculties which we hire, we contact those people for
getting referals in their organizations
How can I be better
than competitors and
how a better product
can be delivered?

The organization My Equation is one step ahead from the

competitors like Internshala, Skyskill-academy, Intellipat, etc
because these companies provide the electric vehicle course for a
duration of 6 months that too at a hefty price which most of the
people don’t consider buying because of the duration and price as
well.
But when the same content is delivered at a fast pace in a short and
crisp format, with nominal rates, then most of the students consider
buying the product.

The ways in which a better product can be delivered than

competitors are: -
i. Good marketing, making reels and promoting the course on
social media in an interactive manner.
ii. Easy payment options for students, during payment
methodology like payment in two installments.
iii. Providing lifetime access to the LMS Portal for respective
course.
iv. Proving guidance to students even after course completion
v. 1:1 doubt solving sessions
vi. Certifications backed by valuable organizations in specific
domain.
vii. Promoting positive feedback of mentees via short video
recordings and testimonials.
PLAN B
(What if Product fails)

If the product fails and the organization faces a loss then the
following backups can be considered: -
i. Conducting offline paid workshops in colleges and universities
with nominal fee amounts, to retrieve the loss.
ii. Conducting paid hackathons in colleges with nominal amount,
which can result in revenue generation as well as promotion
of the organization.
iii. We can make the lms portal on paid services, to the students
after course completion.
iv. For getting placements, we can take money from the students,
to get placement guidance and sit for placements
v. After course completion, we can sell some of our content to
other companies at hefty amount for retreviewing loss.
