Growing up in a small village in Kenya's Tharaka Nithi County gave me a strong sense of
community and a profound appreciation for the natural world. My early encounters with
volunteering at a nearby animal shelter cultivated my empathy for all living things, and they
have influenced my outlook and goals in life.
In high school, I actively participated in various clubs such as the Christian Union, Wildlife
Club, and the Red Cross Society. Here, I was able to explore my interests beyond academics,
fostering my emotional well-being and creativity. One unique skill I developed was
crocheting, which gave me an opportunity to express myself creatively while also boosting
my self-esteem.
From a young age, I have been passionate about helping people. I always aspired to be a
nurse, inspired by my childhood days of playing with dolls and pretending to care for others.
Witnessing the challenges people around me faced further fueled this motivation. I found
myself drawn to community organizations, participating in activities such as visiting the sick
and providing support wherever needed. My passion for healthcare is driven by a desire to
help people and save lives, and I believe nursing is a fulfilling path where I can make a
significant impact
Despite facing challenges along the way, my resilience has enabled me to overcome them,
with my parents offering constant encouragement and support. Their belief in me, combined
with my strong faith, has carried me through difficult times, and I remain grateful for every
opportunity that has brought me to this point.
I am now ready to embark on the next chapter of my journey by pursuing a degree in nursing.
I am confident that this program will not only deepen my knowledge and skills but also
provide me with the platform to achieve my goal of serving communities and making a
lasting impact in the healthcare field.
