Aim
The aim of this course is to equip students with knowledge of how people behave in the context of an
organization.
Objectives
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of key concepts and theories in organization behaviour
Analyze and solve practical organizational problems.
Content
1. The overview of organizational behaviour
Definitions and concepts of organizational theory and behaviour.
The Importance of organizational behaviour in organization.
Contrast between management and organizational behaviour.
The historical roots of organizational behaviour
5. Performance management
Nature of performance management, purpose of performance and measurement
Individual rewards in organizations – purpose of rewards, types of rewards, linking
performance and rewards, reward systems.
Work-life linkages: fundamental, work – life relationship and balancing work-life linkages.
Method of teaching
Four contact hours consisting of three lectures and one tutorial
Assessment
Continuous assessment 50%
One assignment 20%
Two tests 30%
Final examination 50%
