14.For a constant mass moving in a circular path of radius r, the force F, acting towards
the centre of the circle, varies directly with the square of the speed v and inversely
with the radius of the path. If 𝐹 = 240 𝑛𝑒𝑤𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑠 when 𝑣 = 4 𝑚/𝑠 and 𝑟 = 0.1𝑚.
find F when 𝑟 = 0.5𝑚 and 𝑣 = 2 𝑚/𝑠. 6 marks

15.What is the probability of forming two letter words from the letters, P, Q, R, and S, if
repeated letters are not allowed?

16.The figure below shows the speed – time graph of a ball that is kicked by a boy
directly to the wall. The ball bounced and stop after the boy has let it pass him.

17.Fred lives at F. his friend Winston lives at W, 1 km away on a bearing of 210°, show
this on a diagram and calculate the bearing of F from W.

18.Each student in a class of 40 plays at least one indoor game chess, monopoly and
scrabble. 18 play chess, 20 play scrabble and 27 play monopoly. 7 play chess and
scrabble, 12 play scrabble and monopoly and 10 play chess and monopoly. Using a
Venn diagram, find the number of students who play all three indoor games.

19.A line parallel to the line 𝑦 − 5𝑥 − 7 = 0 cuts the y-axis at (0, −3). What is the
equation of the line? 5 marks

20.Triangle ABC is such that; 𝐴(−5, 5), 𝐵(−1, 5) 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶(−3, 1).
i) Using a scale of 2cm to represent 2 units on both axes, draw the triangle ABC
on the graph paper provided.
ii) Enlarge the triangle ABC, taking (−1, 1) as the centre of enlargement with a
scale factor of −2. 6 marks
