I am Achinthya Rajkumar. I was born on 17/08/2002 in Chennai, India. My father’s name is Ariyur
Rajkumar and mother’s name is Sundari Rajkumar. My father is working in Doha, Qatar since in
Qatar Galvanizing as a general manager. He has been working abroad in GCC countries since 1996. I
am the only child. I spent most of my childhood in Qatar and did my schooling till grade 12 in Qatar.
Subsequently I joined National Institute of Technology Karnataka to pursue bachelor’s degree in
mechanical engineering. Following the completion of my graduation, since none of the universities in
in India feature in top global rankings, I did not explore any option of studying my Post Graduate
education in India, and chose to study abroad outside India at a globally high ranked University in a
multi-cultural environment. I had applied for universities in US such as Arizona University, IOWA
University, UWM (University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee). In Australia I applied for Monash
University and University of New South Wales (UNSW). I got offers from UWM, Monash, and
UNSW. I chose to pursue my Master’s degree in UNSW - Australia as it met all my expectations and
requirement, which includes high world ranking in terms of both research and employability aspects,
multicultural environment. The current economic situation of my family is very good and allows me
to pursue my higher education abroad. My Father, who will be funding my expenses during the period
of studies and stay in Australia is currently working in Qatar with an annual income of AUD
144,000.00. Additionally, he has assets of AUD 491,000 in investments and AUD 535,000 in
properties. As pet CA statement.

Answer 2
Following my completion of B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering, I decide to pursue my Masters in
Materials Science / Technology in a reputed University with high global ranking, and multi-cultural
environment. One of the major reasons being that B-Tech Mechanical followed by MS in materials
technology expands / increases the avenues of career opportunities. It also equips me with a deep
understanding of the structure, properties, processing and performance of materials, hence opening
doors to a wide scope of opportunities for employment in industries such as automotive,
manufacturing, oil & gas, aviation etc. I chose UNSW for the course because of the high global
ranking of the University, (being ranked 19th worldwide) and employability, (ranked 1 st in Australia
and 25th worldwide). The University also offers wide range of subjects and credits offered by UNSW
in this course. MS in Materials technology requires me to complete 96 units of credit. I have to take
four core courses each worth 6 credits, two research projects for a total of 24 credits with one of
projects needing to be taken twice and choose eight Advanced Disciplinary electives from 20 each
worth 6 credits to complete 48 credits. I have chosen Australia as the country to pursue my master’s
degree due to its excellent quality of tertiary education. Australia also provides a multicultural setting
with opportunities to interact with students from all over the world. The high standard of living and
good job prospects were some of the other pull factors that influenced my decision in choosing
Australia. I found through the UNSW and other portals that we can get high quality single
accommodation near to campus through. The average cost of accommodation will be in the range of
400 – 600 AUD.

Answer 3
My aim would be to build a career as a materials engineer and technical team leader in R&D division.
Alternatively, I am also looking at other career options in Academics (Teaching) in a reputed
University after completing my post-graduation and research, Asset integrity engineer, especially in
Oil and Gas Industry. Earning a master’s degree in materials technology course opens the door to a
wide range of opportunities in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Semiconductors, Automobile,
and Biomedical industries sectors. Reliance Industries, and Hindustan Unilever are reputed companies
in these sectors for employment opportunities with prospective earning ranging from 8-13 lakhs
Rupees per annum. Besides India I am also very interested in working in Australia or USA. RKM
rollers, ANSTO etc. are some of the companies in Australia that offer job prospects for material
engineers with prospective earnings ranging from 70000$ to 180000$ per annum. Applied Materials,
Inc is a reputed American company dealing with semiconductors and offers employment
opportunities for the same.

Answer 4
I do not have a prior study history in Australia. I have never applied for any student visa before. This
is my 1st application for student visa after I got an offer from UNSW. I am very keen to pursue my
higher education in a highly ranked university of global repute. I do not have any other relevant
information to declare for the time being.
