    Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed faculty, respected parents, and my dear fellow students.

    Good day principal, vice principal, teachers, performers and my fellow graduates, I am Modebola
    Oluwasona, the outgoing senior prefect of our school, here to deliver my farewell speech.

    As I stand here today, it is with a mixture of gratitude, nostalgia and pride that I bid farewell
    to each and every one of you. The past six years have been an incredible and stressful journey but to
    the Glory of God we overcame it and I am extremely honoured to have served as the senior prefect
    of this remarkable institution.

    First and foremost, I want to express my deep and heartfelt gratitude to the teachers and
    staff who have dedicated themselves to nurturing and training us. I want to thank everybody who
    helped bring me up to this point, I really appreciate it and I couldn’t have done it without you. I am
    extremely grateful to God, my daddy, my mummy and my set-mates that made the journey most
    memorable. May God bless you all.

    My fellow students, thank you for making these six years, the best years of my life. It has
    been an incredible privilege to work alongside such talented, diverse and passionate young men and
    women. Together we faced numerous challenges and Glory to God we came out triumphant.

    However, no journey is without its hurdles. In reflecting on my tenure, it is important to


    acknowledge the problems we encountered. Today I have been mandated to speak about the
    problems I encountered during my dutiful tenure as the Senior Prefect of this institution and how I
    addressed them, To begin with, the problem of truancy among students, particularly those in senior
    school became a source of concern to teachers and parents. When the problem was brought to me, I
    was baffled then I turned to the Holy Spirit for help and then I received the idea to appoint hall
    monitors. A hall monitor is a student appointed to check the school premises and make sure no
    students are loitering or on the hallways without a hall pass. After the implementation of this plan.,
    the level of truancy in this school reduced drastically.

    Secondly, petty theft and loss of stationeries was also very rampant. Students typically
    complained about their items gone missing. This was frustrating because those complaints are
    extremely frequent especially during the examination periods. The solution to this problem was
    more difficult. It entailed raising seven hundred and fifty thousand naira from parents and other
    interested stakeholders to build secured lockers so students can store their stationery under lock
    and key. This greatly reduced the thefts and misplacement of stationeries in the school.

    While these challenges are real, I am confident that the resilience and determination within
    the student body will drive positive changes in our student life. As we say our goodbyes, let us not
    only reminisce about the past but also look forward to the future with enthusiasm.

    In conclusion, I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together


    during my tenure as Head Boy. I believe that each of us has the potential
    to make a positive impact on the world, and I am excited to witness the
    incredible accomplishments that lie ahead for each and every one of you.

    Thank you for an unforgettable journey, and may the spirit of unity and
    learning continue to thrive within the walls of this esteemed institution.
