Changing software on the MicroNet Plus with Coder 4.06+

Caution:
Please take all precautions for personal safety in or around the FT8, when changing
software, testing I/O, forcing discrete I/O or placing the controller into I/O Lock.

The software will automatically start the DC pumps upon a controller re-start to protect the
Generator bearings if one had shutdown the controller while the Generator and Power
turbine shaft was still rotating.

Turn Off DC Lubrication pumps prior to Stopping the running application or placing the
controller in to I/O Lock.
Three breakers need to be turned off for a TwinPac and two for a PowerPac. One for the generator
and one for each engine. If this step is not complete the DC pumps will turn on when the
controller is placed in I/O lock or when the control application is stopped.

Using Control Assistant 3.8 or greater to receive/send Tunables and place the Controller
into/out of IO Lock. This tool replaced the MicroPanel tool.

1. Open Control Assiant from the desktop icon, to Receive or Send Tunables
2. Click the Icon and get the latest values, please make sure you have saved the
values in the control prior or select the “Save Values on Control” icon.

3. Verify the controller IP Address is the correct unit you are in 172.17.U.1 and the Port
is 5003, then select the “OK” button to continue

If you want to save the original tunables (always a good idea) to your pen drive,
do so but then close the Control Assistant and open it again before starting this
procedure. This means when you Receive tunables it will have a name of
"Untitled 1". This will be in keeping with this write up.

Now at the top of the page you need to go to Edit click compare. You will now get a screen under
Master hi‐light untitled1 and compare click on untitled 2. Also make sure the differences are checked in
the box. Click OK.

Now in Control Asst. you will have three pagers Untitled1, Untitled 2 and Differences.

If the lock is greyed‐out, open an new window with Control Assistant. This
second window with Control Assistant can now be used for locking and
unlocking (nothing else).
If you get this error message – close the “WinPanel” with the three versions of
tunables open and open it again by clicking on the eyes.
