Introduction to XAT 2025 Syllabus
XAT 2025 syllabus is divided into 2 parts comprising 5 sections – 3
core sections in Part-1 with negative marking and 2 sections in Part-2
without negative marking as below:-

The XAT exam syllabus includes all the key topics of Verbal & Logical
Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation. Check the table

Verbal Ability And Logical Reasoning
The XAT Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning Syllabus makes up 26% of
the XAT exam, with 26 out of 100 questions focusing on this section.

The VALR section in the XAT syllabus is divided into three parts. The
1st part of the syllabus covers topics on Verbal Ability, the 2nd Part of
the syllabus covers Reading Comprehension passages and the 3rd
part covers Reasoning section. Each question carries one mark, with a
deduction of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. The format of the

Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QADI) section in XAT
commands 28% weight in XAT exam. It is usually moderate to high
in terms of difficulty level. The section is mostly dominated by
Arithmetic. The difficulty level of XAT Quantitative Aptitude is high,

Decision Making carries a weightage of 21% in the exam. It tests you
not on your ability to learn concepts or remember formulas, but on
your ability to holistically view a situation and propose a solution to a
problem. DM tests your ethical standing by requiring you to make
decisions in conflicting situations.The Decision Making section
includes questions on Data Based Problems, Situation Based
Problems, and a combination of both types of problems.Find the

does not affect percentile calculation. However, it is crucial during the

General Writing
Essay writing is a crucial component of the XAT exam, testing the
writing skills of candidates. It was removed in 2019 but reinstated in
2022. Test takers must write a coherent essay on a given topic, with
past trends showing a focus on contemporary or abstract topics. The
essay is important for the Personal Interview round, as questions are
based on the content of the essay.

 XAT 2025 Exam Pattern
The XAT exam pattern was revised two years ago, adding a mock
keyboard testing and essay writing. The time duration was increased
from 180 to 210 minutes. In XAT 2025, candidates will have 180
minutes to complete the test, because XAT essay writing section is
removed from the exam. While key highlights remaining the same.

XAT 2024 was held on 7th January 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm,
XAT 2024 Exam is moderate difficulty level with no changes in the
exam pattern or syllabus from the previous year. The analysis covers
sectional difficulty, topic weightage, question types, good attempts,
and expected cut-offs for XLRI admission, aiding candidates in
XAT 2025 Slot- 1 Analysis
