Compound Nouns are written in different ways:-

1- One word football


2- Two words police station
3- Two words joined by a hyphen horse – riding
4- Words joined by a hyphens father – in – law

Types of Compound Nouns:-

1- Noun + Noun football


2- Noun + Verb rainfall
3- Noun + Gerund sightseeing
4- Gerund + Noun drinking water
5- Adjective + Noun blackboard
