U6Xc One of the simplest and most straightforward
exercises for introducing a new word is the See & Say
technique. This involves holding up a flash card with
the new sight word written on it, and then having the
child repeat the word several times while looking at
the flash cardThis technique is based on the idea of

exposing children to the word and getting them to
repeat it multiple times, which helps them to engage
both their visual and auditory senses. Overall, it’s a
highly effective method for introducing new sight
words to young learners.
Learners will
1) Learn what is a ruler and inch tape and how to read numbers on it.

Mathematics
2) Learn to measure different objects using standardized measurement with inch tape and ruler.

Understandi Learners will learn about plant adaptations in different habitats such as deserts, rainforests, and water. They will compare the
characteristics of plants in these habitats and explore their similarities and differences.

involvement Understanding the world:
1. Children can visit the "Green Planet" exhibit to explore the diverse range of plants found in the rainforest. They can
observe the unique shapes, textures, and sizes of leaves, and then be encouraged to create their own plant that would
thrive in the rainforest habitat.

2. Parents can take their children to explore and observe the plants that grow in UAE's deserts. Children can even draw
and phonetically write about the plants they see.

Math:
Here are some examples of activities which will support your child to understand standard measurement: -

1) Set up stations around the room where children can measure and record various objects by using ruler. (objects should
not exceed length of a standard ruler which children are using to measure objects)

2) Mark the floor with masking tape. Children take long jumps and mark the starting and finishing point on the masking
tape with pencil or crayon. Now use inch tape to measure your long jump length and record it. Play this game with
your siblings and compare your recordings.

“Childhood friendship is the most beautiful memory that can’t be ever
replaced”
Information
Tips for developing children’s friendship skills-
to parents
1. Arrange plenty of opportunity for your child to meet lots of different people starting right from birth.
2. Children learn from seeing how you treat your friends and their friends and playmates.

©AIS
3. Children find it easier to get along with others if they can do the same things.
eg- learning to swim
4. Talk with children about how to be with others eg- When someone to visit we say hello etc.
5. Play games with them so they learn about cooperating and considering others.
6. Ask them to think of another way to get what they want. When they are very young you need to show and tell them “I know
you feel angry when I am on the phone, but I don’t like it when you hit, if you want me to come just touch me gently”.
7. When children are first learning to play together have something planned for them to do.
8. Teach your child to smile and greet other people. Do not force the issue if your child is not ready. It may help to practice at
home when you greet each other.
