JOINING
All joins should be made with color B, either by sewing 2 edges together with a blanket st, or
working sc sts through both loops of the edge sts on both squares. This creates a very
narrow join.

Take note of the orientation of the Small Square A (Viola) when joining. The sample shows
this square facing the centre on all sides.

Make 4 strips of 3 squares with Square C (Mandala 1) on the left, Square A (Viola) in the
centre and Square D (Mandala 2) on the right.

Join 2 of these strips to the top and bottom of the large Centre Square. [Note: Join end
corner ch-sps, match sts along 1st smaller square, match next st on central square to both
the corner ch-sp of 1st and 2nd smaller squares, match sts along 2nd smaller square, match
next st on central square to both the corner ch-sp of 2nd and 3rd smaller squares, match
sts along 3rd smaller square, join end corner ch-sps. 3 x 38 sts + 2 sts for smaller square
corners = 116 sts of central square]

Join a Square B (Leaves) on each end of the remaining 2 strips. Then join the longer strips to
the left and right sides of the Centre Square.
