Youth Classes

Movement & Music


This fun 30 minute class will unleash the child’s creativity moving to
music. Basic dance moves will be introduced and circle games will
keep the child’s attention.
Attire: Comfortable clothes for movement and ballet slippers or tennis
shoes.
For: Ages 2-3

Ballet & Tap Sprinker Ballet Classes


Dancers will learn basic ballet steps, center floor work and ballet Class attire: Tights, leotard, ballet slippers, and hair pulled up in a

Beginning Movement Ballet


Ballet is introduced with focus on proper technique, foundational skills,
posture, and terminology. Class includes the structure and routine of
classical ballet, as well as some lyrical choreography.

Youth Classes
Toe, Tap & Tumble
This dance and movement class covers basic ballet exercises, tap
dancing skills, and gymnastic tumbling. Youth will develop flexibility,
balance and total body coordination. Students should wear shorts or
leotards, tap or hard soled shoes are required as well as soft ballet
slippers.

Companionship Classes
Pierce County Parks and Recreation proudly offers “Companionship,” a specialized recreation program designed to
provide fully inclusive recreational and leisure opportunities for individuals of all abilities and their families. Our goal
is to assist the participants in finding and maintaining strong friendships while playing and trying new activities. We
accept funding through DSHS/DDA for all special populations programs.
