High School and Beyond Data Set

The high school and Beyond data set (hsb) is from a large-scale longitudinal study
conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (1980) under contract with the
National Center for Education Statistcs. The students in the study are a nationally
representative sample of n = 600 high school seniors with observations on 15 variables.

The data are in a file named “hsb.dat”, which will be made available to you. In this file,
there are 600 lines (one for each subject) and 15 columns (one for each variables). Brief
descriptions of the variables in the order in which they are in the file are given below.
