Mediation Competition

The Modern Law College, Pune, proposes to host a Mediation Competition on 10 th January, 2025
organized by Modern Arbitration Center. The competition aims to foster mediation skills among
law students, promote alternative dispute resolution, and provide a platform for them to
showcase their abilities.

Objectives

 To cultivate student understanding of mediation principles, procedures, and techniques.


 To enhance student communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
 To promote mediation as a viable alternative to traditional litigation.
 To foster a competitive environment that encourages excellence in mediation.

Eligibility

 The competition is open to students enrolled in law schools.


 Each team must consist of two students.
 Students may participate in only one team.

Registration

 Registration fees: INR 500 per team.


 Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
 The maximum number of participating teams is 12.

Format

 The competition will be conducted in multiple rounds, including preliminary rounds and
finals.
 The specific format of the competition will be announced closer to the event date.
 The evaluation criteria will include communication skills, negotiation abilities, problem-
solving skills, and knowledge of mediation principles.

Prizes

 Attractive prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.


 The exact nature of the prizes will be announced at a later date.
