1. Construct a conic when the distance of its focus from the directrix is equal to 50 mm and
its eccentricity is 3/4. Measure its major and minor axes. Draw a tangent at any point on
the curve. What is the distance between the foci? [15]

2.a) Distance between Delhi and Chennai is 1800 km. On a railway map, it is represented by
36 cm length. Calculate the RF. Construct a diagonal scale to read up to a single

kilometer. Mark on it the following distances 76 km and 593 km.
b) Construct a cycloid having a rolling circle of 50 mm diameter. Also draw a tangent and
normal at any point P on the curve. [7+8]

3. A line AB of 70 mm long has its end A at 10 mm above HP and 15 mm in front of VP. Its
front view and top view measure 50 mm and 60 mm respectively. Draw the projections of
the line and determine its inclinations with HP and VP. [15]

4. A regular pentagon of 30 mm edges has an edge on the HP and perpendicular to the VP.
The corner opposite to the edge on the HP is 30 mm above the HP. Show the projections

1. A circle of 40 mm diameter rolls over a straight line without slipping. In the initial
position, the diameter RS of the circle is parallel to the line on which the circle rolls.
Draw the locus of points R and S for one complete revolution of the circle. [25]

2. The projections of a line AB are perpendicular to xy reference line. The end A is in the
HP and 50 mm in front of the VP and the end B is in the VP and 40 mm above the HP.
Draw its projections, determine its true length and the inclinations with the reference
planes. [25]

3. A pentagonal pyramid with side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long rests with an edge
of its base on HP such that its axis is parallel to both HP and VP. Draw the projection of
the solid. [25]

4. A cylinder with 50 mm diameter and 65 mm axis length has its axis parallel to the VP
and inclined at 300 to the HP. It is cut by a cutting plane perpendicular to the HP, inclined
at 300 to the VP and passing through a point P on the axis 25 mm from the top end. Draw

the true shape of the section of the cylinder. [25]

5. A horizontal cylinder of 50 mm diameter penetrates the vertical cylinder of 80 mm
diameter resting on the HP. The axes of the cylinders are coplanar. The axis of the

construct a scale to measure up to 35 m. Mark a distance of 27m on it.
