Meaning of Feasibility Report:A report which projects the practical viability of a venture with respect to different dimensions is called a feasibility report. By feasibility report, we mean that the venture must be practically possible with respect to the following areas of management. Technical Feasibility It includes technology selection, requirement of raw material, indirect material, manpower etc. Marketing Feasibility. Just producing a product is not ultimate end but rather a beginning. It must be accepted by customers. Financing Feasibility. It includes all the data related to balance sheets, cash flow aspects, depreciation, description of loan, Insurance etc. Social Feasibility.

It should not only be viable from the above mentioned angles, but it must be such that it does not harm the society. Mankind is a community that we all stand in a relation to each other, that there is a public end and interest of society which each particular is obliged to promote, is the sum of moral

The list of things which are included in stationery are note books, drawing books, journals, graph paper, pens, pencils, erasers, geometry boxes, glue, school bags etc. The need of all these things is very essential as it has lot of importance. Exercise book Production business is simply the business of printing and providing writing books to school children and all classes of people, who do some form of writing every now and then. Future growth potential: very high. Dynamic, sustainable business. Possible for Small business or Cooperative-based organizations.

Not much staffing required especially at the beginning. Exercise books Production business provides access to sell writing materials to school children for as long as human civilisation exists. As long as there are schools and will continue to be schools, that are going to be having a captive market. In addition, as long as human civilisation permits reading and writing, two of the greatest and most important activities since the dawn of civilisation, business will continue to be relevant and sustainable. Even in a paperless economy, where information is increasingly being computerised and digitalised, exercise books will continue to play a frontline role as materials for penning or pencilling our thoughts, ideas, lessons learnt, assignments, homework, lectures, instructions, business issues, to-do lists, articles, etc.

Notebook, paper made by Isabella Brown (Knaggs), England, 1850-1957. An EXERCISE BOOK (also notepad, writing pad, drawing pad, legal pad, etc.) is a book, made of paper or a computer based program, of which various uses can be made, including writing, drawing, and scrapbooking. Paper Notebooks. Paper notebooks can be distinguished along several dimensions and sub-dimensions: Type of surface and support. Form factor (size and weight) binding and cover material (including printing and graphics) pre-printed material on writing surfaces (lines, graphics, text) Legal pad: According to legend, Thomas W. Holley of Holyoke, Massachusetts invented the legal pad around 1888 when he innovated the idea to collect all the sortings paper scraps. in about 1900, the later then evolved into the modern legal pad when a local

11

judge requested for a margin to be drawn on the left side of the paper. This was thus the first legal pad. Binding and cover: Principal types of binding are padding, perfect, spiral, comb, sewn, clasp, disc, and pressure, some of which can be combined. Binding methods can affect whether a notebook can lie flat when open and whether the pages are likely to remain attached. The cover material is usually distinct from the writing surface material, more durable, more decorative, and more firmly attached. It also is stiffer than the pages, even taken together. Cover materials should not contribute to damage or discomfort. NOTE BOOKS are available that use glue to hold the pages together; this process is commonly referred to as "padding". Today it is common for pages in such notebooks to include a thin line of perforations that make it easier to tear out the page. Spiral-bound pages can be torn out but frequently leave thin scraggly strips from the small amount of paper that is within the spiral, as well as an uneven rip along the top of the torn-out page. Hard-bound notebooks include a

12

sewn spine, and the pages are not easily removable. Some styles of sewn bindings allow pages to open flat, while others cause the pages to drape. In each of these systems the pages are modified with perforations that facilitate the specific binding. Preprinting: NOTE BOOKS for writing usually have some kind of printing on the writing material, if only lines to align writing or facilitate certain kinds of drawing. Inventor's notebooks have page numbers preprinted to support priority claims. Many notebooks have graphic decorations. Personal organizers can have various kinds of preprinted pages. After using notebooks, the pages can be recycled via standard paper recycling. Recycled notebooks are also available, differing in recycled percentage and paper quality. Possible electronic successors: Since the late 20th century, many attempts have been made to integrate the simplicity of a notebook with the editing, searching, and communication capacities of computers through the

13

development of note taking software. Laptop computers began to be called notebooks. Digital paper combines the simplicity of a traditional pen and notebook with digital storage and interactivity. By printing an invisible dot pattern on the notebook paper and using a pen with a built in infrared camera the written text can be transferred to a laptop, mobile phone or backoffice for storage and processing

1.

A5-sized general notebooks:The general notebook is the regular type we all have used at one point or the other in our lives. It usually comes in quarto A5 size and is the favourite for primary, secondary and even tertiary students and virtually everybody. It comes in different sizes: 20, 40, 60 and 80 leaves. Specialised Notebooks: There are also notebooks that are used for specialised purposes like solving Mathematical questions, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Statistics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry and even more professional ones used by surveyors, accountants/bookkeepers, etc.

2.

14

3.

Higher Education Notebooks: These notebooks are in the A4 or A5 sizes and are mostly used by students of Secondary and Tertiary institutions. They are longer than the general type, have more leaves, some even are hard backs and they are a little more expensive than the general type. Jotters:There are various jotters being sold in the market today - some like booklets, while others are big and wide and colourful. Some others are small and bland with barely any attractive colours. Notebooks for Other Purposes: There are materials that are notebooks in nature because they are made for note taking. this category include diaries, graph books, science notebooks, composition notebooks, handwriting notebooks, writing pads, A4 copier paper/office printing paper, and many others.

87

The second ps of marketing mix is price. price means the amt. of money charged for the product or a service or sum of the

88

money that consumers exchange for the benefits of having or using the product or the services Pricing is a complex problem and no readymade formula to be suggested so the firm has to consider few major factors in setting pricing policy. Setting of the pricing is managerial aspect and should be given prime importance because it is difficult to increase or decrease after charged once. for determining price we have adopted following procedure.

In order to arrive at the most acceptable price level, the manufacturer needs to have the information of 3cs. Customer Competition Cost structure of the firm Our firm handles pricing in a variety of ways. We handle pricing with the influence of information revealed by the production manager and finance manager. After analyzing the prices of the competitiors, we have adopted a going rate pricing method. Means we have priced our product somewhere near to the prices of the competitiors.

89

Pricing policy
1.

Survival:It is our major objective because we would face intense competition. This is our short-term objective. In long run we must learn how to add values our product.

2.

Maximization of market share:Our long term objective is to become a role-player in this market. We will charge lesser price than the competitiors price. Our goal is to expand our product and diversify our business.

3. Analysing competitors place:As we are new in this market, it is not feasible to set prices. Therefore we need to price lower than our competitiors product due to price factors. Before entering any market, one should identify its target customer group which is based on monthly house hold income and their living area. To cover target consumers of all income groups we have

90

different products to satisfy ones demand.

Pricing strategies:
The price of the product should be such that it covers the cost of production, distribution & selling cost of the product ; including a fair return for its efforts &risks. The same strategy is applied to our writing book industry.we also expact that the price should cover the cost of production , sales promotion & distribution. But at the same time, considering the cut throat competition prevailing in the market, we believe in keeping the price of our products in accordance with the competitors.

Money The company consider advertising as a current expense past of it is really an investment that build up and intangible assets called, brand quality The total expenditure of advertising our product.

100

We consider advertising as a current expense part of it. It is really an investment that builds up an intangible asset called brand equity. We consider the following factors while deciding our advertising budget.

1) Stage in product life-cycle :In the initial stage, our advertising budget is high because we want to introduce our product to the customers. Afterwards, it will be low compared to the 1st year. 2) Market share and customer base:when the firm covers enough market share, it will require less marketing budget because it will have a set of loyal buyers and recognise in the market.

We do advertising for promotion of our product. This is described in more detail in 5Ms of marketing in later part. We will prefer direct marketing and business trade shows for the advertisement. Our sales promotion tools vary in their specific objectives. 1) A free management advisory service aims at cementing a long term relationship with a retailer and consumer. 2) We do promotions to attract new customers and a reward to loyal customers and to increase the repurchase rates of occasional users. 3) We also do promotions to attract brand switchers who are primarily looking for now price and good value. We unlikely turn them into loyal customers.

Our strategy for sales promotion:We first estimate what we need to spend in trade promotion. Then we decide what we need to spend in consumer

103

Major decision in sales and promotion:Establishing objectives For consumers Encouragement to purchase in bulk Attracting, switchers away from competitors brand For retailers To pursue them to buy new products Building brand loyalty For the sales force To the new products Encouragement to new prospective.
