experiences for children
in the foundational years
The Dot Learning Circle 3
Every child deserves a strong beginning to
their educational journey. A solid foundation
in the early years is crucial, encompassing
not only literacy and numeracy but also
social, emotional, and communication skills.
This foundation is the steppingstone to their
future success in education. Our mission
at The Dot Learning Circle is to empower
teachers to build this foundation, by creating
a safe and enriching learning environment
where children feel encouraged to explore,
learn, and innovate.

Language and Literacy Program
Learning to read and write plays a significant role in the
development of literacy. A child’s ability to speak and express
themselves verbally lays the foundation on which both
reading and writing skills are built.

Our Language and Communication Program introduces the children

to stories, exposes them to a diverse set of vocabulary across
multiple themes and encourages them to participate in discussions,
speaking and role plays. Through these activities, we aim to create
a rich linguistic environment that nurtures their language skills and
enhances their overall communication abilities.

An effective literacy program strives to ensure that every child:

• Learns to read in the early years up to grade 2
• Reads to learn from grade 3 onwards

At The Dot, we ensure that children are prepared to write

expressively by Grade 1. By this stage, they would have not
only honed their fine motor and handwriting skills but would
also have acquired the language, vocabulary, and background
knowledge necessary for expressive writing.
