1
2. To determine whether or not evidence cartridge cases marked “4ES4 and
4ES5”; “4ES2 and 4ES6” were fired from one or different firearms;
3. To determine whether or not evidence shells marked “4ES1, 4ES2, 4ES3,

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS:

1. Examination made on the evidence cartridge cases marked “4ES1, 4ES2,

4ES3, 4ES4, 4ES5, 4ES6 and 63-14 T1” revealed the following:
a. Evidence CC marked “4ES1” is a rimless case fired from a caliber .45
firearm;
b. Evidence CC marked “4ES2” is a rimless case fired from a 9mm
firearm;
c. Evidence CC marked “4ES3” is a rimmed case fired from a caliber .38
or .357 revolvers;
d. Evidence CCs marked “4ES4 and 4ES5” are rimmed case fired from
caliber .22 long;
e. Evidence CC marked “4ES6” is a rimless case fired from a caliber
9mm; and
f. Evidence CC marked “63-14 T1” is rimfire cartridge case fired from a
caliber .22.
2. Microscopic comparison between the evidence cartridge cases marked
“4ES1” and test cartridge case marked “4TS5” fired from a caliber .45 Colt
with SN 10176-NM marked “EF2”, resulted to insufficient findings due to
the condition of the submitted evidence firearm preventing this office from
producing sufficient standards for comparison.
3. Microscopic comparison between the evidence shell marked “4ES2”,
“4ES6” and test cartridge case marked “4TS5” fired from the submitted
evidence firearm marked “EF6” with SN TUL 20806 revealed the same
individual characteristics therefore they were fired from one and the same
firearm.
4. Microscopic comparison between the evidence shell marked “4ES3” and
“4TS2” fired from evidence firearm, caliber magnum .357 S&W revolver,
SN AFH 5068 marked “EF7” resulted to negative findings, meaning they
were not fired from one and the same firearm.
5. Microscopic comparison between the evidence shell marked “4ES3” and
“4TS3” fired from evidence firearm, caliber .38 S&W revolver, SN 134356
marked “EF1” resulted in negative findings, meaning they were not fired
from one and the same firearm.
6. Microscopic comparison between the evidence shell marked “4ES3” and
“4TS4” fired from evidence firearm, caliber .38 S&W revolver, SN 899438
marked “EF5” resulted in negative findings, meaning they were not fired
from one and the same firearm.

2
7. Microscopic comparison between the evidence shell marked “4ES4” and
“4ES5” fired from unknown caliber .22 firearm resulted in positive
identification, hence they were fired from one and the same firearm.
8. Microscopic examination between the evidence shell marked “63-14 T1”
and the test cartridge case fired from evidence firearm caliber .22 pocket
revolver marked “EF4” (serial no. Unknown) revealed a negative
identification; therefore, they were fired from a different firearm.
9. Examination made on the evidence bullets marked “4EB1, 4EB3, 4EB4,
4EB5, 4EB6 and 4EB7” revealed the following:
a. Evidence bullet marked “4EB1” is a caliber .45 full metal jacketed was
fired through the barrel of a firearm of the Colt type (6LG2X);
b. Evidence bullet marked “4EB7” is a caliber 9mm full metal jacketed
was fired through the barrel of a firearm Browning type (6RG2X);
c. Evidence bullet marked “4EB3” is a caliber .25 full metal jacket was
fired through the barrel of a firearm of Browning type (6RG2X); and
d. Evidence bullets marked “4EB4” and “4EB5” are caliber .38 lead round
nose were fired through the barrel of a firearm Smith and Wesson type
(5RG=L).
10. Microscopic examinations made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB1” and the test bullet marked “4TB1” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm, caliber .45 Colt pistol with serial no. 10176-NM marked
“EF2” revealed inconclusive findings due to insufficient basis of
comparing individual characteristics. (Remarks: Another test fire must be
made using the same type of bullet with that of the evidence bullet which
is full metal jacket; test bullet used for comparison is a lead bullet thereby
rendering difficulty of ascertaining the clearer basis of comparing
individual characteristics produced by the riflings.)
11. Microscopic examinations made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB7” and the test bullet marked “4TB5” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm, caliber 9 mm Taurus pistol with serial no. TUL 20806
marked “EF6” revealed a positive result since they possessed similar
individual characteristics and concluded that they were fired from one and
the same firearm.
12. Microscopic examinations made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB3” and the test bullet marked “4TB7” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm, caliber .25 Titan pistol with serial no. ED49238 marked
“EF3” revealed a positive result since they possessed similar individual
characteristics and concluded that they were fired from one and the same
firearm.
13. Microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullets marked
“4EB4” and “4EB5” fired from unknown caliber .38 firearm revealed the
negative result, hence they were fired from a different firearm.
14. A microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB4” and the test bullet marked “4TB2” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber magnum .357 Smith and Wesson revolver, SN
AFH 5068 marked “EF7” resulted to negative findings and they fired
from a different firearm.
15. Microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB4” and the test bullet marked “4TB4” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolvers with serial
number 899438, marked “EF5” revealed negative findings because they

3
possessed different individual lands and grooves characteristics and
therefore, they were fired from different firearm.
16. The microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB4” and the test bullet marked “4TB3” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolvers with serial
number 134356 marked “EF1” revealed negative findings, meaning
they were fired from a different firearm.
17. The microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB5” and the test bullet marked “4TB2” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber magnum .357 Smith and Wesson revolver, SN
AFH 5068 marked “EF7” resulted to negative findings and they fired
from a different firearm.
18. The microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB5” and the test bullet marked “4TB4” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolvers with serial
number 899438, marked “EF5” revealed negative findings because they
do not possess similar individual characteristics and fired from a different
firearm.
19. The microscopic comparison made between the evidence bullet marked
“4EB5” and the test bullet marked “4TB3” fired through the barrel of
Evidence Firearm caliber .38 Smith and Wesson revolvers with serial
number 134356 marked “EF1” revealed negative result and they were
fire from the different firearm.
