Inverse Trigonometric Functions

1. Show that the relation R in the S{1,2,3} given by R =
{(1,1),(2,2),(3,3),(1,2),(2,3)} is reflexive but neither symmetric nor transitive.
2. Show that the relation R in the set Z of integers given by R = {(a,b): 2 divides
a-b}
3. Show that the relation R in the set A of all the books in a library of a college,
given by R = {(x,y): x and y have same number of pages}, is an equivalence
relation.
4. Find the number of all one-one functions from set A = {1,2,3} to itself.
5. Show that an onto function f:{1,2,3}→{1,2,3} is always one-one.
6. Prove that the function f:R→R, given by f(x) = 2x is one-one and onto.

Vector Algebra

1. Find the number of vectors of unit length perpendicular to the vectors a = 2i + j + 2k


and b = j + k.
2. Find the position vector of the point which divides the join of points with position
vectors a + b and 2a - b in the ratio 1:2.
3. Write the value of p for which a = 3i + 2j + 9k and b = i + pj + 3k are parallel vector.
4. Find all the vectors of magnitude 3√3 which are collinear to vector i + j + k.
5. If r = 3i + 2j + 6k, find the value of (r × j) · (r × k) - 12.
