    Dear Mayor Arcillas,

    Greetings from the Development Academy of the Philippines!

    The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in partnership with the Department of
    Science and Technology (DOST) Region 4A, is implementing the project entitled Accelerating
    Smart Growth in Santa Rosa City, Laguna: A Pilot Project on Smart City Assessment and
    Roadmap Development. The project aims to facilitate smart growth and development in Santa
    Rosa City by formulating a roadmap that will set forth the local development agenda of the city
    anchored on established ISO Smart City indicators and the Sustainable Development Goals
    (SDGs).

    One of the major activities of the project is the conduct of a validation and
    consultation/participatory planning workshop with the key stakeholders and smart city players
    in Santa Rosa City. This activity aims to orient the members of the Santa Rosa Smart City
    Technical Working Group (TWG), as well as validate the initial assessment findings, gather
    feedback from the stakeholders, and solicit inputs for the formulation of the subject roadmap.

    In line with this, we would like to respectfully request your attendance, along with the City’s
    stakeholders (Attachment 1), to the Multi-stakeholder Validation and Consultation
    Workshop on the Formulation of the Santa Rosa Smart City Roadmap from June 14 to
    June 15, 2022 in Santa Rosa City, Laguna (exact venue to be determined). Enclosed in this
    letter is the tentative program of activities (Attachment 2) for your reference.

    VALIDATION OF ASSESSMENT FINDINGS AND CONSULTATION WORKSHOP ON THE
    FORMULATION OF THE SANTA ROSA SMART CITY ROADMAP
    June 14-15, 2022

    Rationale:

    The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), in partnership with the Department of
    Science and Technology (DOST) Region 4A, is implementing the project entitled “Accelerating
    Smart Growth in Santa Rosa City, Laguna: A Pilot Project on Smart City Assessment and
    Roadmap Development.” The project aims to facilitate smart growth and development in Santa
    Rosa City by formulating a roadmap that will set forth the local development agenda of the city
    anchored on established Smart City indicators and the Sustainable Development Goals.

    One of the major activities of the project is the conduct of a validation and
    consultation/participatory planning workshop with the key stakeholders and smart city players in
    Santa Rosa City.

    Objectives:

    The workshop aims to:


    1. Provide a project briefer and orientation to the members of the Santa Rosa Smart City
    Technical Working Group;
    2. Validate the initial assessment findings and gather feedback from the stakeholders; and
    3. Solicit inputs from the stakeholders to define the City’s desired outcomes, establish local
    milestones, and identify and develop smart city strategies and/or technology solutions.

    Expected Outputs:

    At the end of the workshop, the participants are expected to have:


    1. Increased knowledge on the ISO model for Smart Cities and better understanding of their
    roles as part of the Santa Rosa Smart City TWG;
    2. Validated and provided feedback on the smart city assessment results of Santa Rosa City;
    and
    3. Identified local milestones and strategies towards smart city transformation.
